Winter 2019 Thursday Walter Payton Men’s Competitive Basketball – Week 2

Windy City Bulls (2-0) vs. Past Our Prime (0-2) – Thursday, January 24, 2019

Windy City Bulls got a great W by the score of 74-57, to stay undefeated on the campaign against Past Our Prime. They brought it on D, allowing fewer points than they gave up in their opening game. Brandon Taylor had a massive night to guide the club’s attack with 50 points. Past Our Prime really gave everything they had in this game even though they lost, topping their total from their opening contest. Even in a losing effort, Mike Goldstein had an enormous game to lead the club’s Offense with 26 points, while Derek G put in 12 points. Exiting week 2, Windy City Bulls will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. Next up is a throwdown against Premature Shooters (2-0-0). As for Past Our Prime next up is a showdown against Time to Ball (0-2-0) as they try to get to the win column.

 

Abusement Park (2-0) vs. Wet Dream Team (0-2) – Thursday, January 24, 2019

Abusement Park got a solid W by the score of 74-65, to remain unbeaten against Wet Dream Team. This team really brought it in this game, exceeding their first game point total. Sam Collins had a nice showing to help get the squad the win with 20 points and Matthew Schick and Michael Wisor had 15 points each. Eric Moeller had a solid game to lead the team’s offense with 23 points, while Christopher Rickert had 17 points. This week Abusement Park will compete with LFG (1-1-0), as they go for another W. For Wet Dream Team next on the schedule is Trees and Threes (1-1-0) as they strive to get into the win column.

 

LFG (1-1) vs. Time to Ball (0-2) – Thursday, January 24, 2019

LFG got a great win by the score of 83-63, their first of the season against Time to Ball. This team really brought their A game in this one, beating their opening game point total. Sterling Williams had an amazing showing to help get the crew the W with 27 points and Chad Murphy netted 17 points. Time to Ball really were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this game, scoring fewer than their total from their opening contest. Porusic had a good game with 20 points and Zoran Planinic scored 16 points. For LFG, next up is a throwdown with Abusement Park (2-0-0), as they look for another win early on this season. For Time to Ball next on the docket is Past Our Prime (0-2-0) as they strive to come back from this one.

 

One Time (2-0) vs. Trees and Threes (1-1) – Thursday, January 24, 2019

One Time and Trees and Threes lit up the scoreboard, combining for 182 points. One Time got a blowout win by the score of 102-80, to maintain a zero in the loss column against Trees and Threes. They showed up in this one, beating their first game point total. Tony Moeaki had a quality night to help get the team the W with 24 points, Sam Carlson scored 23, and Reilly O’Toole scored 20 points. Trees and Threes really struggled defensively in this game, allowing more points than their first match.  Aaron Wellington and Mike Rose both had tremendous games to lead the team’s Offense with 25 and 24 points, respectively. One Time will attempt to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 3. Next up is a match-up with Extra Moist (0-2-0). For Trees and Threes next up is a match-up against Wet Dream Team (0-2-0) as they attempt to get to the win column.

 

Premature Shooters (2-0) vs. Extra Moist (0-2) – Thursday, January 24, 2019

Premature Shooters got a great win by the score of 70-58, to maintain a zero in the loss column against Extra Moist. These guys really buckled down in this game, emerging victorious despite allowing more points than their first game. Andy T had a great game to help earn the group the W with 18 points and Jeffrey Collins and John Hayes put in 11 points each. Extra Moist really struggled defensively in this game, allowing more points than their opening game. Even in a losing effort, Robert Mischler had a nice night to lead the squad’s offense with 20 points, while Henry Biermann had 14 points. Exiting week 2, Premature Shooters will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. Next up is a showdown against Windy City Bulls (2-0-0). For Extra Moist they will have a showdown with One Time (2-0-0) as they strive to get to the win column.
