Spring 2021 Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF (May 19th) Coed REC Flag Football – Week 1

Red Flags (1-0) v. INDY Team #3 (0-1) – Wednesday, May 19, 2021

Red Flags opened their Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC Flag Football League season with a critical 26-14 win over INDY Team #3, with QB Jibraan Mohajir throwing two touchdown passes and Michelle Chapman leading a swarming defense. The season is still young, but Red Flags are the early co-leaders in scoring after Week 1. QB Jibraan Mohajir of Red Flags connected with Stanley Chu and Michelle Chapman for two scores while also hauling in a TD of their own. Red Flags will attempt to stay atop the League Standings with another W in Week 2. Smokin Jays (1-0-0) are next on the calendar for Red Flags. It is only the first week, and INDY Team #3 has plenty of time to go back to the drawing board on both sides of the ball. For INDY Team #3, in the loss, QB Stephen Srichinda connected with Reenie Luze and Durrell Williams for their only two scores in this game. For INDY Team #3, they will have an extra week to work out the kinks as they have the Week 2 BYE on their schedule.

 

Smokin Jays (1-0) v. Yo, Pass me a Bear! (0-1) – Wednesday, May 19, 2021

Smokin Jays put 26 on the board and held Yo, Pass me a Bear! to 8 points in Week 1 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC Flag Football League. Smokin Jays scored the game’s final 13 points to break open a tight contest. QB Brett Edlbeck delivered three TDs through the air, finding Adam Guyes for one of them and scampered in one on his own. Smokin Jays will attempt to stay atop the League Standings with another W in Week 2. This week Smokin Jays will go toe to toe with Red Flags (1-0-0) with first place in the League Standings on the line. The season is still young, but Yo, Pass me a Bear! are the lowest-scoring team in the league so far. For Yo, Pass me a Bear!, QB Donielle Miller hit Terron Brown for their only score of this game. As for Yo, Pass me a Bear! next up is a matchup against Harrison Street Hunnies (0-0) coming up in Week 2 as they attempt to get to the win column.
