Spring 2021 Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC Flag Football – Week 6

Nasty Narwhals (2-5) v. No Punt Intended (1-6) – Monday, May 17, 2021

For the second time in the last two weeks, Nasty Narwhals put up a 33 on the board and took down No Punt Intended, this time by a final score of 33-26 in Week 6 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC Flag Football League. Nasty Narwhals really brought their A game in this one, topping their average of 18.60 points per game. QB Tim Murphy fired five TD scores, hooking up Matt Maciaszek for two of them. With this Week 6 victory, Nasty Narwhals have strung together two wins in a row heading into the postseason tournament. Nasty Narwhals will begin their Playoff journey on Monday night in the Semifinals as the overall #3 seed. They will take on #2 seed KaBoom! (5-2) with the winner booking their ticket into the League Championship Game. No Punt Intended brought their best in this game even though they lost, beating their average of 21.70 points per game for the year. For No Punt Intended, in the loss, QB Carlie threw three TD scores, connecting with David Brown for two of them. With this Week 6 defeat, No Punt Intended will begin their postseason journey on Monday night as the overall #4 seed. They will take on #1 seed Flags & Flasks (5-1-0) in the Semifinals with the winner staying on the field to compete for the League Championship.

 

KaBoom! (5-2) v. Flags & Flasks (5-1) – Monday, May 17, 2021

Flags & Flasks have spent the past month flirting with perfection, insisting all the time they were far from flawless. They were not wrong. Flags & Flasks bid for an unbeaten season is over. KaBoom!’s bid for another League Championship may just be beginning. QB Shaun Himmerick delivered one TD pass for KaBoom!, which was caught by Joseph Leathead and Hassan Myles recorded their first Defensive TD to help KaBoom! deliver Flags & Flasks first loss of the season, 12-7. This huge Week 6 victory locks up the overall #2 seed for KaBoom! for the upcoming postseason tournament. They will take the field on Monday night in the Semifinals against #3 seed Nasty Narwhals (2-5) with the winner of this contest booking their ticket into the Championship game. Flags & Flasks really struggled to get it going on offense in this game, scoring less than their average of 29.50 points per game this year. In the loss for Flags & Flasks, QB Brett hit Ryan Murphy for their only score in this game. Even with this Week 6 loss, Flags & Flasks will begin their postseason journey as the overall #1 seed. They will take the field on Monday night in the Semifinals against #4 seed No Punt Intended (1-6). Winner of this game will stay on the field and compete for the League Championship.
