Spring 2018 Wed Lincoln Park Turf Coed Rec Flag Football-Week 8

S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training) (6-3) v. Multiple scoregasms (0-7) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
In this Semi-Final game, the #1 seed, S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training), took on the #4 seed, Multiple scoregasms. S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training) shut out the competition with a final score of 32-0.  S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training) brought their A game in this one, exceeding their average of 27.10 points per game. QB Kevin Linklater threw five touchdowns, finding Bryan Malkowski for two of them. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training) is advancing to the championship game. They have a tough match ahead of them when they take on the #2 ranked team, Legion of Boom. These two met in week 3 and S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training) won 19-12. This championship showdown should be epic. Multiple scoregasms had a rough run this season and they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs.

Legion of Boom (6-2) v. ChicaGo Badgers (4-3) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
In this Semi-Final game, the #2 seed, Legion of Boom, took on the #3 seed, ChicaGo Badgers. By the score of 42-6, Legion of Boom got a dominant win. These guys really brought their A game on D, beating their season points against average of 11.3 points per game. QB Michael Migut passed five scores, hitting Gretchen for two of them. Legion of Boom is on their way to the big game. They only lost 2 games this season and one of them was to S.H.I.T. (superheroes in training). They’ll face them again in the championship next week, and this game is sure to be a close one. Either team could come out victorious. Unfortunately for ChicaGo Badgers, this loss means the end of their season.

TCG Ballers (3-4-1) v. Bad News Bears (2-4-1) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
TCG Ballers were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 32 points last week. However, they were the lower ranked #9 seed playing the #8 seed, Bad News Bears. They would have to play their best if they wanted to advance to the next round. By the score of 18-7, TCG Ballers got a solid win. TCG Ballers showed up in this one, beating their average of 12.90 ppg. QB Nick Dunlap delivered three TDs, hitting Eric Klaus for one of them. During the loss, QB Steve hit Matthew Damhauser for one touchdown. TCG Ballers have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye. Bad News Bears have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye.

No Punt Intended (8-0) v. TCG Ballers (3-4-1) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
Heading into this Quarter-Final game, TCG Ballers were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 32 points last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #1 seed playing the #9 seed, TCG Ballers. They confidently took the win to advance to Semi-Finals. No Punt Intended shut out the competition with a final score of 41-0. These guys really brought their A game on defense, beating their season points against average of 14.8 ppg. QB Justin Dreyfuss threw five touchdowns, hitting Gabe Lipari for two of them and scampered for one more. No Punt Intended advance to semi-finals where they’ll take on the #4 seed, Prestige Worldwide. They’re just two games away from the championship title. TCG Ballers is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon.

Prestige Worldwide (5-3) v. Any Given Wednesday (3-4) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
The 4th place vs 5th place game is always one of the most exciting matches of the playoff bracket. With a final score of 46-33, Prestige Worldwide grabbed this W. By the score of 46-33, Prestige Worldwide got a great victory. Prestige Worldwide really brought their A game, topping their average of 27.30 points per game. QB Keith Goldner passed five TDs, finding Anthony Chun for three of them and scampered for one with his legs. Even with a loss Any Given Wednesday gave it their all on in terms of scoring in this one, exceeding their average of 21.90 points per game this season. For Any Given Wednesday, QB Jake Whitfield hit Justin Robert for two touchdowns. This week’s win advances Prestige Worldwide to semi-finals. They’ll face the #1 seed, No Punt Intended and the winner will move on to the championship match. This is the end of the road for Any Given Wednesday’s run in this league. There’s always next season!

The Salty Sack (3-5) v. INDY Team #7 (1-6) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
In this extremely close contest The Salty Sack, the #7 seed, emerged as the victors against the #10 seed, INDY Team #7, by only a 2-point margin. The Salty Sack put 26 on the board and held their opponent to 24 points. They brought their A game on defense, beating their season points against average of 28.9 points per game. QB Eric Berg threw four scores, hitting Steve for two of them. INDY Team #7 really did everything they could in this game despite the loss, exceeding their average of 15.30 ppg for the year. For INDY Team #7, QB Ben Ostermann hit Ben Ostermann for one touchdown and rushed for one. Next up for The Salty Sack is a coveted bye week. INDY Team #7 have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye.

The Recruits (7-1) v. The Salty Sack (3-5) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
The #2 seed, The Recruits, took on the #7 seed, The Salty Sack in this Quarter-Final game. The last time these two teams met in week 7, The Recruits won 30-26. This time around, the results weren’t much different. The Recruits put 42 on the board and held their opponent to 27 points. The Recruits really brought it in this game, exceeding their average of 31.30 points per game. QB Derek Parker threw four scores, passing to Cody Bullers for one of them. During the loss for The Salty Sack, QB Eric Berg hit Ryan Mcdonough for one touchdown and ran in one other. The win for The Recruits means a ticket to semi-finals. They’re scheduled to play the #3 seed, Accounts Playable. Whichever team emerges as the winner will advance to the championship game. Unfortunately for The Salty Sack, this loss means the end of their season.

Will Tau (1-7) v. Flaggin’ Ball Z (3-5) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
They weren’t the favored team, but Will Tau, the #11 seed upset the #6 seed, Flaggin’ Ball Z, in this Play-offs game. With a final score of 34-6, Will Tau are one game closer to the championship title.  Will Tau really brought it, exceeding their average of 16.80 ppg. QB Cris threw three touchdowns, passing to Jt Bohland for one of them. For Flaggin’ Ball Z, in the loss, QB Kaitlynd Gardner hit Ibrahim Jacobs for one touchdown. Will Tau have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye.  Next up for Flaggin’ Ball Z is a coveted bye week.

Accounts Playable (5-3) v. Will Tau (1-7) – Wednesday, May 16, 2018
It was an exciting Quarter-final match, in which the #3 seed, Accounts Playable, just barely locked in the win with a 6-point margin against the #11 seed, Will Tau. Accounts Playable put 19 on the board and held their opponent to 13 points.  They really fought hard for this one, earning the win, despite scoring less than their avg. points per game of 22.90. QB Michael Scherpenberg threw two touchdowns, finding Madeline Kelley for one of them and scampered in one on his own. For Will Tau, QB Bret hit for zero touchdown and ran in one on his own. This week’s win advances Accounts Playable to semi-finals. They’ll face the #2 seed; The Recruits and the winner will move on to the championship match. Will Tau had a hard run this season, and they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs.
