In this Quarter-Final game, the #3 seed, Tzatziki Fuego, took on the #6 seed, INDY Team #4. INDY Team #4 didn’t have their best stuff in this game and their offensive showing was not reflective of their 4 overall goals this season. INDY Team #4’s loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule. Tzatziki Fuego had a double header, and both matches were victories, which means they’re heating up! Anthony Boutsikakis is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Tzatziki Fuego. Helping on the offense, Flori Garcia was among those who scored in this playoff win for Tzatziki Fuego. JLL Thunder (2-5-1) vs. Surplus Lines FC (2-4-1) – Tuesday, May 29, 2018
The 4th place vs 5th place game is usually one of the most exciting matches of the playoff bracket. However, that wasn’t the case for this game. With a final score of 5-1, JLL Thunder grabbed this W. These teams had similar season records and nearly matched in total goals scored but a large difference in goals for the season, 12 for JLL Thunder, and 4 for Surplus Lines FC and it showed. The last time these two teams met in week 3, Surplus Lines FC won by forfeit. Sam Provano scored the only goal for Surplus Lines FC to save their team from embarrassment. This week, JLL Thunder came ready for a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #5 rank in the standings table. Krystian D leads JLL Thunder this season in scoring and added 4 goals to their stats this week bringing Krystian D’s personal total to 9, which is the highest in the league. Surplus Lines Fc is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon. It was an exciting Semi-Final match-up, in which the #3 seed, Tzatziki Fuego, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #2 seed, Barnacles. Barnacles had an excellent run this season but they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs. This was one of two games for Tzatziki Fuego this week and impressively, they won both matches, which means they’re officially heating up! The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for Tzatziki Fuego, Anthony Boutsikakis, who had a shutout, and Dave Melnia who scored the only goal of the game. Peaches (7-0) vs. JLL Thunder (2-5-1) – Tuesday, May 29, 2018
Heading into this Semi-Final game, JLL Thunder were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 5 goals last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #1 seed playing the #5 seed, JLL Thunder. They confidently took the win to advance to the Championship Game. This week, Peaches was fired up for a double header. They won both matches helping to boost them to the #1 rank in the standings. Nikil Satish is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Peaches. Helping on the offense, Kyle Wiemerslage was among those who scored in this playoff win for Peaches. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise Peaches advanced to the Championship game. Read the recap below to find out how they did. This was one of two games for JLL Thunder this week. In contrast to their other game, they couldn’t string together the plays they needed for a win, and they now sit in 5th place in the standings. On the bright side for JLL Thunder, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.

Peaches came ready for a double header this week. Incredibly, they won both matches helping to boost them to the #1 rank in the standings. The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for Peaches, Nikil Satish, who had a shutout, and Kyle Wiemerslage who scored the only goal of the game. Congratulations to Peaches on a great season and their championship win! We hope to see this squad return to defend their title. Tzatziki Fuego had two games this week. Sadly, they lost both matches giving them a 2-game losing streak. The losing team still had notable players including Dave Melnia, who scored one goal for Tzatziki Fuego. Tzatziki Fuego came so close to the championship title. They’re not an easy team to beat and looking ahead to next season, they are definitely a team that will be at the top of the standings table.
