SPRING 2018 SUN LINCOLN PARK COED 8 VS. 8 SOCCER – CSSC LEAGUE RECAP – WEEK 2

Kickin’ It (2-0) vs. Tanglers (0-2) – Sunday, April 22, 2018
Kickin’ It was incredible on both sides of the pitch against Tanglers with a final score of 7-0. Tanglers didn’t have their best stuff on offense in this one, netting fewer than their total from their first contest.  For Tanglers they will have a game against FC United CF (0-2-0) as they try to rebound. Kickin’ It is heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Kickin’ It’s goalie played very well in the shut out. John Rhodes accounted for three goals to contribute tallies on the scoresheet. For Kickin’ It, next up is a battle against EY FAAS (1-1-0), as they look to keep up the momentum.

For Fuchs Sake (2-0) vs. Squad (1-1) – Sunday, April 22, 2018
For Fuchs Sake and Squad competed in a game where the defenses dominated, totaling three goals. For Fuchs Sake took home the 2-1 victory. For Fuchs Sake is heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Andy Adams and Jonathan kicked one goal each to spearhead the club’s offense. For Fuchs Sake will try to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 3. Next week For Fuchs Sake will battle Bend It Through Brunch (0-2-0).  Squad really struggled to get it going on offense in this game, netting less than their total from their opening match. Miguel scored the only goal for Squad to prevent the shut out.  As for Squad they will have a game against PenaltEY Kicks (2-0-0) as they try to come back from this one.

Bain Soccer (1-0) vs. The Slide Tacklers (0-2) – Sunday, April 22, 2018
Bain Soccer and The Slide Tacklers participated in a nail-biter up to the last minute with a final score of 3-2. Despite the loss, The Slide Tacklers really gave it their all on in terms of scoring in this game, beating their total from their first game. The losing team still had notable players including Karan Kapashi, who scored one goal for The Slide Tacklers.  As for The Slide Tacklers, next up is a match-up against UCFC (1-1-0) as they try to get to the win column. Aaron Faison accounted for one goal to help gain the club the victory.  For Bain Soccer, each game is a big game to grab wins early on. Next up is a showdown against Hangover United (1-1-0).

EY FAAS defeated FC United CF with a final score of just 1-0. EY FAAS really brought their A game, topping their opening game point total. EY FAAS’s goalkeeper Kevin Doman stone-walled the opponents, earning a shutout for their record. Toe Ballers were amazing in this shut out against Shooters Shoot with a final score of 4-0. Just because they have this loss on their record, does not mean they did not give it their all in this one, allowing less goals than they surrendered in their first match-up. For Shooters Shoot next on the docket is INDY Team #3 (1-0-0) as they strive to rebound. Toe Ballers are heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Toe Ballers’s goalie Alex Madeiros earned a clean sheet in this one. Chris Bain and RAZ each lasered in two goals to steer the club’s offense. This week Toe Ballers will take on Coco FC (1-1-0), as they look for another win early on this season.

UCFC (1-1) vs. Hangover United (1-1) – Sunday, April 22, 2018
In this match, UCFC beat Hangover United 5-1. Even though they lost, Hangover United is averaging 5.0 goals per game. David Holtgrave scored the only goal for Hangover United to save his team from embarrassment. UCFC showed up in this one, beating their first game point total. Kevin Eisele accounted for two goals and Emily Benoit, Jake L, and Alan each score one goal to help gain the squad the W.  As for Hangover United next up is a game with Bain Soccer (1-0-0) as they attempt to rebound. INDY Team #3 played well here and blanked Coco FC with a final score of 2-0. Their goalie Matthew Sanders played very well in the clean sheet. To spearhead the squad’s offense, Sebastian Garcia made two goals.  Exiting week 2, INDY Team #3 will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. PenaltEY Kicks beat Bend It Through Brunch 6-2 in this game. PenaltEY Kicks are heating up, winning both of their games so far this season. Scott Herlihy earned a hat trick with three goals to lead the team’s attack. Mary Bittner, Simeon Washington, and Violaine Tavernier each kicked one goal to also add to the final score.
