Grabbing the same result as they did earlier in the year, dude where’s my cleat? won the rematch against Avocado Discoballs in this round 2 matchup a final score of 2-1. Game of Throw-Ins (5-3) vs. Angels in the Midfield (3-3-2) – Monday, August 6, and 2018
Game of Throw-Ins beat Angels in the Midfield 3-1 in this second round playoff matchup. Game of Throw-Ins was fired up for a double header this week. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #7 rank in the standings table. Ben Thomas kicked two goals to guide the team’s offense. Next up for Game of Throw-Ins was a pairing versus Nice For What in what was a competitive quarter final matchup, you can read that below. Angels in the Midfield really were unable to get rolling in this one, scoring less than their average of 2.1 goals per game this season. Alan Ward scored the only goal for Angels in the Midfield to get their team on the board. Unfortunately for the Angels this loss means the end of their season, so Alan and the rest of the squad can look forward to a nice break to rest their legs until next season.
Pitch Perfect (5-3) vs. LPSE (4-3-1) – Monday, August 6, and 2018
Just like earlier in the season, Pitch Perfect won the second go-around against LPSE, by a final score of 4-2. In spite of losing, LPSE had a great offensive season with a total of 23 goals. The losing team still had notable players including Embibel Gebre, who put in one goal for the squad. Unfortunately this loss means the end of the road for LPSE, we know they’ll be back and better than ever next year. This week, Pitch Perfect came ready for a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them lock in their #7 rank in the standings table. Nic Vecchitto got a hat trick with three goals to lead the crew’s offense. Next up, Pitch Perfect had a match against PWsoCcer as they looked to keep it going through the quarter-finals and in to the semis, read those results below.
Soccer McSoccerface (6-3) vs. Shin-guardium Leviosa (4-3) – Monday, August 6, and 2018
Soccer McSoccerface and Shin-guardium Leviosa took part a close one up to the last minute with Soccer McSoccerface securing a victory by a final score of 3-2. This one was neck and neck through the end of regulation and thus was decided by a shootout. A nice break is next up on the calendar for Shin-guardium Leviosa, as they look regroup and come back next season stronger than ever. This was one of two games for Soccer McSoccerface. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #5 rank in the standings table and advance on to the quarter-finals. Oscar Chen and Darren Freeman accounted for one goal each to lead the club’s attack. Loose Balls (5-5) vs. Soccer McSoccerface (6-3) – Monday, August 6, and 2018
In this exciting 1-point Quarter-Final game, Loose Balls, the #13 seed upset the #5 seed, Soccer McSoccerface by a final score of 2-1. Loose Balls came ready for a double header, this was the better played match, which helped them claim their #13 rank in the standings table. Derek Skoog was among those who scored in this playoff win for Loose Balls, putting one shot past the Soccer McSoccerface goalkeeper, Salil Gupta. Soccer McSoccerface had a double header. If they had only this game, it might have been a different result, and they now sit in 5th place in the standings. Darren Freeman scored the only goal for Soccer McSoccerface to get his team on the board. This win advanced Loose Balls to semi-finals, which was played as a double header. No one expected this Quarter-Final game to be such a close one. PWsoCcer, the #2 seed just squeaked by in this 1-point game to beat the #7 seed, Pitch Perfect by a final score of 1-0. This was one of two games for Pitch Perfect this week. The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for PWsoCcer, Connor Bertocci, who had a shutout, and Jeff Brubaker who scored the only goal of the game. Pitch Perfect had a solid run this season, but unfortunately they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs. The win for PWsoCcer means a ticket to semi-finals. They’re scheduled to play the #2 seed, Nice For What, in what should be an exciting semi-final matchup. Whichever team emerges as the winner will advance to the championship game.
Nice For What (6-0-2) vs. Game of Throw-Ins (5-3) – Monday, August 6, and 2018

Jamie Cheslik was among those who scored in this playoff win for Nice For What, putting one shot past the Game of Throw-Ins goalkeeper, Brian Virgilio. Game of Throw-Ins had a nice run this season, but they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs. The win for Nice For What means a ticket to semi-finals. They’re slated to play the #2 seed, PWsoCcer. Whichever team emerges as the winner will advance to the championship game.
Winded City (7-0-2) vs. dude where’s my cleat? (5-2-1) – Monday, August 6, and 2018
In this Quarter-Final game, the #1 seed, Winded City, took on the #4 seed, dude where’s my cleat?. dude where’s my cleat? had a double header this week. This was the tougher match of the two, and they now sit in 4th place in the standings. On the bright side for dude where’s my cleat?, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season. Winded City also had two games this week. They won both matches and increased their total goals scored to 118. Brett Myers is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Winded City. The offensive effort was handled by Jia Hou and Andy Malnor who each scored one in this playoff win for Winded City. The win advances Winded City to the Semi-Finals, where they’ll take on the winner of the 4th place vs 5th place Quarter Final Game taking place next week. They’re just two games away from the championship title.

No one expected this Semi-Final game to be such a close one. Winded City, the #1 seed just squeaked by in this 1-point game to beat the #13 seed, Loose Balls by a final score of 2-1. This was the second game of a double header for Loose Balls. The game could have gone either way, and they now sit in 13th place in the standings. Aj scored the only goal for Loose Balls to get their team on the board. Loose Balls had a good run this season but they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs. Winded City had two games this week. Both matches were victories giving them a 5-game winning streak. Filip Sarka was among those who scored in this playoff win for Winded City, putting one shot past the Loose Balls goalkeeper, Scott Kellogg. The win for Winded City advances them to the championship game where they’ll take on the winner of the match between.
