Mayhem (1-0-3) vs. EY FAAS (0-4) – Sunday, July 8, and 2018
Going into this game, both teams were hungry for their first win of the season. With a final score of 1-0, Mayhem emerged with an exciting win against EY FAAS, who had a double header. Sadly, they lost both matches, which now gives them a 4-game losing streak. This victory for the Mayhem came as a surprise considering it’s more than halfway through the season and they have only scored a handful goals. The club’s goalie Ian Adams deserves much of the credit after earning a clean sheet. To steer the team’s offense, Ian Adams kicked one goal. On Sunday, EY FAAS face off against Who Said Cheers?! (1-1-2) as they attempt to get off the schneid. Next week, Mayhem tries to remain perfect with a date against Nutmeg (2-0-1).
Kickin It (1-2-1) vs. Toe Ballers (2-1-1) – Sunday, July 8, and 2018
Kickin It celebrated a team milestone this week as they earned their first win of the season, defeating Toe Ballers 2-1. Toe Ballers had two games this week. Sometimes double headers help you get in a groove, other times they lead to heavy legs, but unfortunately it was their first loss of the season. Maggie Kistver scored the only goal for Toe Ballers to get their team on the board. Athletico WB (3-1-0) are next up on the calendar for Toe Ballers, as they look to rebound. This victory for the Kickin It came as a surprise considering it’s week 4 and they have only scored a handful goals. Tim Haaf fired one goal to provide some scoring. Chicos (0-3-1) are next up on the schedule for Kickin It, as they look to keep it going.
FC Beers!Chicago (1-2) vs. EY FAAS (0-4) – Sunday, July 8, and 2018
These teams knew this game was a battle to stay out of last place. Neither team had a win yet this season. Finally breaking their losing streak, FC Beers!Chicago grabbed a win against EY FAAS with a final score of 3-1. It took half the season, but Fondangoals finally earned their first win, defeating Chicos 1-1. This is Chicos’s first tie this season and it was their best defensive performance yet.
