Neon Deions (7-0) v. Winded City (0-7) – Wednesday, January 23, and 2019
In this quarter-final game, the #1 seed, Neon Deions, took on the #8 seed, Winded City, and won 48-0. Neon Deions brought it in this game, beating their average of 28.10 points per game. QB Luke Cohen delivered three touchdowns, finding Ron for two of them and ran for one with his legs. This week’s win advances Neon Deions to semi-finals. They’ll face the #4 seed, RPOs and the winner will move on to the championship match. Winded City is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!
Cobra Corps (6-1) v. INDY Team #8 (1-6) – Wednesday, January 23, and 2019
Heading into this quarter-final game, INDY Team #8, #7 seed, wass coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 14 points last week. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to go up against the higher ranked #2 seed, Cobra Corps. By the final score of 34-0, Cobra Corps confidently took the win to advance to Semi-Finals. Cobra Corps stepped up in this game, beating their average of 29.10 ppg. QB Matt Westerkamp threw five TDs, hitting Joseph Borsellino for two of them, and Christian Westerkamp, Frank Montalto, and Alex Waters received the other three. The win for Cobra Corps means a ticket to semi-finals. They’re scheduled to play the #3 seed, Dimons In The Rough. Whichever team emerges as the winner will advance to the championship game. Hopefully the loss doesn’t haunt INDY Team #8 too much. There’s always next season.
Dimons In The Rough (5-2) v. The Original Team Indy 1 (1-6) – Wednesday, January 23, and 2019
In this extremely close contest The Original Team Indy 1, the #6 seed, emerged as the victors against the #3 seed, Dimons In The Rough, by only a 6-point margin 25-19. Dimons In The Rough fought hard in this loss, beating their average of 22.10 ppg. QB Ian Good passed three touchdowns, hitting Thomas Kutschke for two of them and Jack Howell for the other one. The Original Team Indy 1 really played their A game in this one, topping their average of 15.40 ppg for the season. In the win, QB Andrew Kulp hit Paul Kendrick for two touchdowns and rushed for one more. The Original Team Indy 1 advances to semi-finals where they’ll take on the #2 seed, Cobra Corps. They’re just two games away from the championship title. This is the end of the road for The Original Team Indy 1’s run in this league. There’s always next season!
RPOs (5-2) v. Chicago Freeze (3-4) – Wednesday, January 23, and 2019
The 4th place vs 5th place game is always one of the most exciting matches of the playoff bracket. By the score of 20-18, RPOs got a tight W to get their sixth-straight win. RPOs are averaging 33.4 ppg. QB Matt DiFrancesca passed three scores, hitting Mike Geweniger for two of them. For Chicago Freeze, in the loss, QB Nicholas Voss hit Grant Anderson for one touchdown and scampered in for one. RPOs advance to semi-finals where they’ll take on the #1 seed, Neon Deions. They’re just two games away from the championship title. This is the end of the road for Chicago Freeze’s run in this league. There’s always next season!
