Fall 2018 Wednesday CIBC Men’s Int Flag Football – Week 6

Cobra Corps (5-1) v. The Original Team Indy 1 (1-5) – Wednesday, January 16, and 2019

In this last week of regular season games, the #2 seed, Cobra Corps, took on the #6 seed, The Original Team Indy 1. With a final score of 19-12, Cobra Corps are fired up and ready to start playoffs. Cobra Corps is averaging 28.3 points per game. QB Matt Westerkamp threw two TDs, passing to Joseph Borsellino and Jordan Gorrell for one TD each and scampered for one more.  During the loss, QB Andrew Kulp hit Nick Brown and Joseph Leathead for one touchdown each. Cobra Corps’ win this week locked them in as the #2 seed going into playoffs. They’ll face the #7 seeded team, INDY Team #8. The loss for The Original Team Indy 1 leaves them as the #6 seed heading into playoffs. They’ll face the #3 seeded team, Dimons In The Rough (4-2-0).

 

Dimons In The Rough (4-2) v. RPOs (4-2) – Wednesday, January 16, and 2019

It was an exciting last week of regular season matches, in which the #3 seed, Dimons In The Rough, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #4 seed, RPOs. The final score of 21-20 reflects the hard work Dimons In The Rough put into every minute of the game. QB Ian Good passed three scores, passing to Josh Watkins, Matt McClain, and Jack Howell for one score each.  For RPOs, QB Matt DiFrancesca hit Jake Rzeszutko and Joseph Hlavacek for one touchdown each and ran into the end zone for one. It’s time for playoffs! Dimons In The Rough are heating up with this week’s win, which lands them in 3rd place for the end of the regular season. Can they keep the streak going when they play the #6 team, The Original Team Indy 1? The loss dropped RPOs down to the #4 seed. They’ll face the #5 seeded team, Chicago Freeze (3-3-0).

 

Chicago Freeze (3-3) v. Winded City (0-6) – Wednesday, January 16, and 2019

In this Last week of regular season games, the #5 seed, Chicago Freeze, took on the #8 seed, Winded City. The final score of 35-8 reflects the hard work Chicago Freeze put into every minute of the game.  Chicago Freeze really stepped up, beating their average of 24.30 points per game. QB Nicholas Voss passed four TDs, hitting Josh Rigali for two of them, Trevor Illes and Brunno Peres for the other two, and rushed for one with his legs. Even with the L on their record, Winded City really gave everything they had, exceeding their average of 4.70 points per game this year. It’s time for playoffs! Chicago Freeze is heating up with this week’s win, which lands them in 5th place for the at the end of the regular season. They’ll face RPOs (#4 seed) and try keep their streak going in the first week of playoffs. The loss for Winded City leaves them as the #8 seed heading into playoffs. They’ll face the #1 seeded team, Neon Deions (6-0-0).

 

Neon Deions (6-0) v. INDY Team #8 (1-5) – Wednesday, January 16, and 2019

The #1 seed, Neon Deions, matched up against the #7 seed, INDY Team #8 in this Last week of regular season games.  By the score of 24-14, Neon Deions got a solid victory to remain undefeated this season.  They really buckled down in this one, winning despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 9.0 points per game. QB Thomas threw three touchdowns, hitting Ron for all of them and ran for one more. Even though they lost, INDY Team #8 really brought their best on offense in this one, topping their average of 8.70 points per game for the year. For INDY Team #8, QB Tom Barker hit Damani for one touchdown. Neon Deions had a perfect regular season and locked in the first place seed for playoffs. Winded City, who is the eighth place seed, will really need to step up their game to beat Neon Deions in the first round of the bracket. This week’s loss didn’t help their record for playoffs and INDY Team #8 ended up as the #7 seed. They’ll face the #2 seeded team, Cobra Corps (5-1-0).
