The Wombats (3-3) vs. Bayer N Advil (1-2-1) – Sunday, January 27, 2019

Heading into this semi-final game, Bayer N Advil were coming off winning a forfeit. They were the #2 seed facing the #3 seed, The Wombats. With their higher rank and rest from last week, Bayer N Advil went into this game thinking they would be going on to the Championship game. With a final score of 2-1, The Wombats grabbed this W. The Wombats came ready for playoffs. Zach Erny leads The Wombats this season in scoring and added another goal to his stats this week bringing Zach Erny’s personal total to 10. Michael Messmer also scored in this playoff win for The Wombats. On the bright side for Bayer N Advil, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.  The exciting win for The Wombats advanced them to the championship game. Blue Guys (4-1) vs. The Wombats (3-3) – Sunday, January 27, 2019

In this Championship Game, the #1 team, Blue Guys played the #3 team, The Wombats, for the coveted Chicago Sport and Social Club long-sleeve champ shirts to forever capture their moment of glory. Charles Ishola scored two goals and Caroline Hoki, Alyssa Reitz, and Mike King scored one goal each in this playoff win for Blue Guys, putting two shots past the The Wombats goalkeeper, Andrew Koultourides. Congratulations to Blue Guys on a great season and their championship win! We hope to see this squad return to defend their title. This was one of two games for The Wombats this week. They struggled in this match. Michael Messmer scored the only goal for The Wombats to save his team from embarrassment. Losing the championship game is never easy, but The Wombats lost with grace. We hope to see them back next season for another chance at the title.
