Fall 2018 Saturday Lincoln Park Men’s Int Flag Football – Week 6

Los Charros (5-0-1) v. TBD (Mertens) (2-4) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

In this last week of regular season games, the #1 seed, Los Charros, took on the #4 seed, TBD (Mertens). Los Charros put 20 on the board and held TBD (Mertens) to 13 points.  Los Charros really buckled down in this one, earning the victory despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 9.2 ppg. QB John Stool delivered two touchdowns, hitting Drew and Mike each for one of them and rushed in one on his own.  For TBD (Mertens), QB Ian Mertens hit Joe for one touchdown and rushed for one more. Los Charros’ win this Saturday locked in their spot as the #1 seed in the playoff bracket. They’ll face the winner of the #4 vs. #5 seed game. The loss for TBD (Mertens) leaves them as the #4 seed heading into playoffs. They’ll face the #5 seeded team, Swamp Donkeys (2-3-0).

 

Swamp Donkeys (2-3) v. Koozie Club (1-5) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Swamp Donkeys, took on Koozie Club this last week of the regular season. Swamp Donkeys grabbed the W with a final score of 19 to 6.  Swamp Donkeys showed up in this game, exceeding their average of 9.20 points per game. QB Garrett May delivered two TDs, with Nathan on the receiving end of both of them and ran for one with his legs. For Koozie Club, QB Nate Race hit Nathan Willey for one touchdown. Swamp Donkeys’ win this week locked in their spot as the #5 seed for playoffs next week. They’ll face the #4 seeded team, TBD (Mertens). This week’s loss didn’t help their record for playoffs and Koozie Club ended up as the #6 seed. They’ll face the #3 seeded team, Monsters of the Midway (3-3-0).

 

Monsters of the Midway (3-3) v. Koozie Club (1-5) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Monsters of the Midway defeated Koozie Club 19-6. Monsters of the Midway really brought their A game in this one, topping their average of 17.00 points per game. QB Mike passed two scores, finding John Wiesner and Eddie for each of them. In the loss, QB Nathan Willey hit Mike for one touchdown. It’s time for playoffs! Monsters of the Midway is heating up with this week’s win, which lands them in 3rd place for the at the end of the regular season. Koozie Club, finished as the #6 seed. It just so happens these two teams will re-match in the first round of playoffs. We’ll see if Monsters of the Midway can keep their streak going or if Koozie Club will get their revenge win.

 

Penny Sacks (4-0-1) v. Were ok (2-4) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Were ok forfeited to Penny Sacks. Penny Sacks’s win this week solidified their spot as the #2 seed going into playoffs. They’ll face the winner of the #3 vs. #6 seed game.

 

Penny Sacks (4-0-1) v. Swamp Donkeys (2-3) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Penny Sacks took on the Swamp Donkeys and got a hard-fought victory with a final score of 18-6. They really stepped up on the defensive end, beating their season points against average of 7.2 points per game. In this win, QB Lorenes passed two scores finding Craig for one of them. For Swamp Donkeys, QB Garrett May hit Kyle Winter for one touchdown. Penny Sacks’ win this week locked them in as the #2 seed for playoffs next week. The loss for Swamp Donkeys leaves them as the #5 seed heading into playoffs. They’ll face the #4 seeded team, TBD (Mertens) (2-4-0).
