Fall 2018 Saturday Lincoln Park Coed Rec 8v8 Soccer – Week 5

Squad Goals (6-0) vs. Bain Ballers (2-2-1) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Squad Goals put on a show on both sides of the pitch against Bain Ballers with a final score of 3-0. Bain Ballers struggled to get it going on offense in this game and came short of making it onto the scoreboard. Man Chest Hair City (2-2-2) is next up on the calendar for Bain Ballers, as they attempt to bounce back. Squad Goals is having an astounding offensive season. They’re averaging 4 goals per game. The team’s goalkeeper Aaron Meyer played very well in the clean sheet. To steer the team’s offense, Brianna Kunycky, Daniel Schmoll, and Conor Hawes each scored one goal. On Saturday, Squad Goals will battle against Jimmy Saville’s U10s (5-1-0) in an attempt to stay perfect.

 

Jimmy Saville’s U10s (5-1) vs. Bend It Like Bote (2-4) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Jimmy Saville’s U10s controlled this game in shut out fashion against Bend It Like Bote with a final score of 2-0. Jimmy Saville’s U10s really showed some grit in this battle, emerging victorious, despite scoring less than their average goals per game of 3.0.  Their goalkeeper Jack Spring deserves much of the credit after earning a clean sheet. To guide the squad’s offense, both Chris Cogbill and Willie Finn each scored one goal. Next up for Jimmy Saville’s U10s is a contest against Squad Goals (6-0-0). The Tanglers (0-5-0) are next up on the schedule for Bend It Like Bote, as they look to get into the winner’s circle.

 

Chicago Cougars (2-3-1) vs. The Tanglers (0-5) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

In this match, Chicago Cougars beat The Tanglers 4-1. Chicago Cougars stepped up, surpassing their average of 1.5 goals per game. Guillermo, Kate, Jesus, and Jose each kicked one goal to help earn the crew the win. It’s week 5 and The Tanglers have only scored a total of 2 goals all season. Evan Neuburger scored the only goal for The Tanglers to get their team on the board. FC Chell (2-1-2) is next up on the schedule for Chicago Cougars, as they look to keep it going. Next Saturday, The Tanglers faces off against Bend It Like Bote (2-4-0) in an attempt to break their winless streak.

 

Bend It Like Bote (2-4) vs. INDY Team #8 (1-4) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

Bend It Like Bote and INDY Team #8 had a defensive battle, with a combined score of three goals. Bend It Like Bote took home the 2-1 victory. INDY Team #8 didn’t have their best stuff on offense in this one, scoring fewer than their average of 1.4 goals per game this year. Marisa Furney scored the only goal for INDY Team #8 to prevent the shut out.  FC Chell (2-1-2) is next up on the docket for INDY Team #8, as they try to bounce back. This week, Bend It Like Bote was fired up for a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #7 rank in the standings table. Both Lynn Pietryga and Chris Mueller kicked one goal to provide some scoring. Next up for Bend It Like Bote is a throwdown versus The Tanglers (0-5-0).

 

FC Chell (2-1-2) vs. Man Chest Hair City (2-2-2) – Saturday, October 20, and 2018

FC Chell and Man Chest Hair City had a draw and finished all tied at 1-1. They’ve met even competition the past two weeks and FC Chell have a 2-game draw streak. For FC Chell, Michael Kuntz kicked one goal to provide some scoring. Exiting week 5, FC Chell looks ahead to INDY Team #8 (1-4-0) who is next on the calendar. This is Man Chest Hair City’s second tie this season and they’re currently sitting in fourth place in the standings. Jean Pierre Valencia was the star player for Man Chest Hair City this week. They scored the only goal for their team. For Man Chest Hair City they will face off with Bain Ballers (2-2-1).
