Winter 2019 Wednesday Lake St Men’s Soccer – Week 7

Akuna Capital (2-4) vs. IGFC (1-4-1) – Wednesday, March 20, 2019

Earning the same result as they did earlier this season, Akuna Capital won the second go-around between these two groups. This game finished with a final score of 3-2.  In spite of losing, IGFC has been doing great on offense, with a total of 33 goals.  Rory was the star player for IGFC this week scoring all two goals for their team.  The loss dropped IGFC down to the #4 seed.  Akuna Capital are having a fantastic offensive season.  They’re averaging 4 goals per game.  Dani Ben-Reuven scored two goals to help gain the group the W while Merlin Ge added one.  Akuna Capital finished the regular season in 3rd place.

INDY Team #3 (3-2-1) vs. Finn’s Team (5-1) – Wednesday, March 20, 2019

As was the case earlier this season, INDY Team #3 won the rematch between these two Teams. This game finished with a final score of 6-5.  INDY Team #3 seems to have found their groove and has won two games in a row.  Patrick Dwyer scored a hat trick to help earn the squad the win while Daniele Rosso added two goals and Nandakumar Bakthisaran added one goal.  This is Finn’s Team’s first loss of the season but it didn’t impact their #1 ranking in the league. They still had notable players including Charles , who accounted for three goals for Finn’s Team and Sameer Dhavalikar who added two.  INDY Team #3 finished the regular season in 2nd place.  Even with a loss this week, Finn’s Team was so far ahead in the rankings, they locked in the #1 seed for playoffs.
