Winter 2019 Wednesday CIBC Fire Pitch Football – Week 7
The Star-Nosed Moles (6-1) v. League of Shadows (0-7) – Wednesday, March 20, and 2019
In this Quarter-Final game, the #1 seed, The Star-Nosed Moles, played the #8 seed, League of Shadows. The last time these two teams met in week 5, The Star-Nosed Moles won 54-8. The results weren’t much different this time around. With a final score of 36-6, The Star-Nosed Moles have their eyes on the prize. The Star-Nosed Moles are the highest-scoring team in the league for the season, averaging 50.0 points per game. QB John Doran and QB Patrick Pierret combined for five touchdowns, passing to Grady Schmidt for two of them while Charlie Cardon, Patrick Pierret, and Drew B each caught one. For League of Shadows, QB Jose Vazquez hit Michael Witkowski for one touchdown. The Star-Nosed Moles advance to semi-finals. They’re just two games away from the championship title. League of Shadows is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!
Checkdowners (6-1) v. Son of a Butcher (1-6) – Wednesday, March 20, and 2019
Checkdowners, took on the #7 seed, Son of a Butcher in this Quarter-Final game. Checkdowners put 50 on the board and held Son of a Butcher to 16 points. These guys really showed some fight in this one, prevailing despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 11.4 points per game. QB Michael Jabs delivered three TDs, passing to Bobby Centlivre for two of them and Sam Ashbrook for one and rushed for three with his legs. In the loss, QB Rick Rodriguez hit David for one touchdown. This week’s win advances Checkdowners to semi-finals. Son Of A Butcher is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon.
Dimons & Ducks (6-1) v. 4th n Schlong (2-5) – Wednesday, March 20, and 2019
In the 8:30 quarte-final match up Dimons & Ducks confidently took the win over 4th n Schlong to advance to Semi-Finals. By the score of 41-14, Dimons & Ducks got a dominant win to earn their sixth-straight win. This team really showed up on defense in this one, beating their season points against average of 26.4 points per game. QB Ian Good passed four scores, passing to Jack Howell for two of them while Tyler Leising and AJ Washington each caught one. For 4th n Schlong, QB Chase Noonan hit Ross Anderson and J Banks each for one touchdown. The win for Dimons & Ducks means a ticket to semi-finals. 4th n Schlong is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!
INDY Team #7 (4-3) v. The Iron Condors (3-4) – Wednesday, March 20, and 2019
The Iron Condors forfeited to INDY Team #7. This week’s win advances INDY Team #7 to semi-finals. The Iron Condors’s loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule.
