Winter 2019 Tuesday CIBC Coed Soccer – Week 1

Blue Guys (1-0) vs. Beercelona (0-1) – Tuesday, February 5, 2019

Blue Guys shut out Beercelona with a final score of just 1-0. Their goalie Mike Taylor is credited with the shutout. Kick in a Box (0-1-0) are next on the schedule for Blue Guys, as they look for another win early on this season.  It’s only week one, and Beercelona has plenty of time to improve on the offensive end.  For Beercelona they’ll move on to a match-up against ESPN The Ocho (1-0-0) as they look to bounce back.

 

Clark Construction (1-0) vs. Chicago Veterans (0-1) – Tuesday, February 5, 2019

In this match, Clark Construction beat Chicago Veterans 7-3. It’s just the beginning of the season, Chicago Veterans has plenty of opportunities to practice on the offensive end. The losing team still had notable players including Jaime Munozmaciel, Johnny Rodriguez, and Enrique Ospina, who put in one goal each for Chicago Veterans. In the win for Clark Construction, Nick Glick and Natalee Easthom scored two goals each to lead the crew’s offense. Also providing some scoring for Clark Construction were Eric Green, Patrick Russell, and Konrad Koniecki with one goal each. For Chicago Veterans they will have a contest with Daddy FC (0-1-0) as they try to come back from this one. Clark Construction will attempt to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 2. LPSE (1-0-0) are next on the docket for Clark Construction.

 

ESPN The Ocho (1-0) vs. Daddy FC (0-1) – Tuesday, February 5, 2019

ESPN The Ocho were amazing in this shut out against Daddy FC with a final score of 6-0. It’s only the first week, and Daddy FC has a significant amount of time to improve on offense. As for Daddy FC next on the schedule is Chicago Veterans (0-1-0) as they look to get into the win column. ESPN The Ocho’s goalkeepers Ben Rosenkranz and Brad Sherrill played very well in the shut out. Thomas Edwards and Ryan Teich both scored two goals to spearhead the group’s attack. Also deserving some credit is Emily S. and Shane Decker who scored one goal each for ESPN The Ocho. ESPN The Ocho will try to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 2. This week ESPN The Ocho will line-up against Beercelona (0-1-0).

 

Headers & Shoulders 2 (1-0) vs. INDY Team #8 (0-1) – Tuesday, February 5, 2019

Headers & Shoulders 2 and INDY Team #8 had a nail-biter up to the last minute with a final score of 3-2. It’s only week one, so INDY Team #8 has time to improve on offense. Amanda Keplinger was the star player for INDY Team #8 this week. She scored both goals for them. Zach Liebman fired two goals, and Andrew Merrill scored one goal to help get the club the W. As for INDY Team #8 next on the docket is Look Ma No Hands FC (0-1-0) as they try to bounce back. For Headers & Shoulders 2, each game is a big chance to build momentum at the outset of the season. This week Headers & Shoulders 2 will go toe to toe with Velvet Taquitos (1-0-0).

 

LPSE (1-0) vs. Kick in a Box (0-1) – Tuesday, February 5, 2019

LPSE put on a show on both sides of the pitch against Kick in a Box with a final score of 2-0. LPSE’s goalkeeper Diego played very well in the shut out. Naode Gelan and Embibel Gebre each lasered in one goal to lead the club’s attack. For LPSE, next up is a match-up against Clark Construction (1-0-0), as they look to keep up the momentum. The season is still young, and Kick in a Box has plenty of weeks to go back to the drawing board on offense. For Kick in a Box next on the schedule is Blue Guys (1-0-0) as they attempt to come back from this one.

 

Velvet Taquitos (1-0) vs. Look Ma No Hands FC (0-1) – Tuesday, February 5, 2019

In this match, Velvet Taquitos beat Look Ma No Hands FC 8-1. Gurdeep Nagi earned a hat trick with four goals to help gain the club the W. Don Perry also scored two goals, and Michael Crowley, and Nick Stuedemann scored one goal each for Velvet Taquitos. Exiting week 1, Velvet Taquitos will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. Headers & Shoulders 2 (1-0-0) are next on the calendar for them.  Even with a loss, Look Ma No Hands FC have a lot of opportunities to practice their offensive skills before play-offs. David Carro scored the only goal for Look Ma No Hands FC to save his team from embarrassment. As for Look Ma No Hands FC they will have a game against INDY Team #8 (0-1-0) as they look to bounce back.
