Winter 2019 Thursday CIBC Fire Pitch Coed Soccer – Week 5

Loose Balls (1-2-1) vs. INDY Team #7 (1-4) – Thursday, March 07, 2019

They feared they might go through the whole season without a win, but Loose Balls defeated INDY Team #7 2-1 in this week’s match-up.  Jeremy Green  and Sarah Lewis each fired one goal to help earn the crew the victory.  Next up for Loose Balls is a pairing against S.T.V.G FC (0-5-0).  Jay Harrington scored the only goal for INDY Team #7 to get their team on the board.  Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year (3-2-0) is next up on the schedule for INDY Team #7, as they attempt to bounce back.

 

Cheeky Monkey (3-1-1) vs. Gogo (2-2) – Thursday, March 07, 2019

Cheeky Monkey controlled this game in shut out fashion against Gogo with a final score of 3-0.  Gogo didn’t have their best stuff on the offensive end in this one and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.  Cheeky Monkey showed up on D in this game, beating their season goals against average of 1.0  GPG.  Jonny Bates, Mark Araci, and Molley each made one goal in the victory.  The defense are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Kevin earn a shutout.  Oprah’s Book Club (3-2-0) are next up on the calendar for Gogo, as they attempt to rebound.  Next up for Cheeky Monkey is a throwdown versus Loose Balls (1-2-1).

 

Chicago Handshakes (2-1-2) vs. Thresholds Thunder (2-1-2) – Thursday, March 07, 2019

Chicago Handshakes and Thresholds Thunder were very evenly matched in this Game and ended all tied at 4-4.  In the tie, Efren and John Tekampe each scored two goals for Thresholds Thunder.   For Thresholds Thunder they will face off with INDY Team #8 (4-1-0).  Eric Shrader and Michael Koho each lasered in two goals for Chicago Handshakes to spearhead the group’s offense.  Exiting week 5, Chicago Handshakes looks ahead to Gogo (2-2-0) who are next on the calendar.

 

INDY Team #8 (4-1) vs. Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year (3-2) – Thursday, March 07, 2019

INDY Team #8 and Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year competed in a Game where the defenses dominated, totaling three goals.  INDY Team #8 took home the 2-1 victory.  INDY Team #8 continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. Eric Bryant and Janson Straub each accounted for one goal to steer the squad’s offense.  Next up for INDY Team #8 is a date versus Thresholds Thunder (2-1-2).  Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year struggled to get it going in terms of scoring in this game, scoring less than their average of 2.0 goals per game for the season. Troy Corcoran scored the only goal for Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year to get their team on the board.  Next up for Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year is a battle against INDY Team #7 (1-4-0), as they look to get back into the winner’s circle.

 

Oprah’s Book Club (3-2) vs. S.T.V.G FC (0-5) – Thursday, March 07, 2019

Oprah’s Book Club beat S.T.V.G FC 4-1 in this game.  S.T.V.G FC really were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this game, scoring fewer than their average of 1.4 GPG for the year.  Chris Len scored the only goal for S.T.V.G FC to prevent the shutout.  Next week, S.T.V.G FC will seek to get their first win with a match-up against Loose Balls (1-2-1).  This win is the second in a row for Oprah’s Book Club, and it bumps them to 3rd place in the standings.  Rafael Gutierrez scored two goals and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet while Nick Tollefson and Leeah Rivas each added one.  Next up for Oprah’s Book Club is a pairing versus Gogo (2-2-0).
