Winter 2019 Thursday CIBC Coed Soccer – Week 1

Cheeky Monkey (0-0-1) vs. Chicago Handshakes (0-0-1) – Thursday, February 07, 2019

Cheeky Monkey and Chicago Handshakes took part in a draw and finished with a stalemate at 3-3. This is Chicago Handshakes’s first tie this season and it was their best offensive performance yet. In the tie, Nikki Wasserman scored two goals for Chicago Handshakes.  For Chicago Handshakes they will go toe to toe with INDY Team #8 (1-0-0). Cheeky Monkey used their 3 goals scored in this game to boost their total goals this season to 3. For Cheeky Monkey, Dan kicked two goals and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet. Exiting week 1, Cheeky Monkey looks ahead to INDY Team #7 (0-1-0) who are next on the calendar.

 

INDY Team #8 (1-0) vs. INDY Team #7 (0-1) – Thursday, February 07, 2019

INDY Team #8 beat INDY Team #7 4-1 in this game. Even with a loss, INDY Team #7 has much time to improve on offense. Sam Ostergaard scored the only goal for INDY Team #7 to prevent the shut out.  For INDY Team #7 they’ll move on to a game with Cheeky Monkey (0-0-1) as they look to bounce back. Geoff Hardy, Nathaniel Goddard, Samantha Borkan, and Brooke Schueller scored one goal each to steer the squad’s attack. For INDY Team #8, every week is a big opportunity to get cruisin. Chicago Handshakes (0-0-1) are next on the docket for INDY Team #8.

 

Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year (1-0) vs. Oprah’s Book Club (0-1) – Thursday, February 07, 2019

Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year and Oprah’s Book Club were extremely neck and neck in this contest up to the last minute with a final score of 3-2. Marc Kozak, Phil Troscinski, Niki Lueck scored one goal each to help earn the crew the victory. The season is still young, and Oprah’s Book Club has tons of games to get better on offense. The losing team still had notable players including Nick Davis and Joe, who kicked one goal each for Oprah’s Book Club. Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year will try to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 2. S.T.V.G FC (0-1-0) is next on the schedule for Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year. For Oprah’s Book Club they’ll move on to a contest with Thresholds Thunder (1-0-0) as they look to come back from this one.

 

Thresholds Thunder (1-0) vs. S.T.V.G FC (0-1) – Thursday, February 07, 2019

Thresholds Thunder beat S.T.V.G FC 4-2 in this game. Efren earned a hat trick with three goals to help earn the crew the W.  Exiting week 1, Thresholds Thunder will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. This week Thresholds Thunder will line-up against Oprah’s Book Club (0-1-0).  It’s only the first week, and S.T.V.G FC has plenty of time to pick it up on the offensive side of the ball. The losing team still had notable players including Chris Len and Dylan Jones, who scored one goal each for S.T.V.G FC.  As for S.T.V.G FC next on the calendar is Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year (1-0-0) as they strive to rebound.

Gogo played well here and blanked Loose Balls with a final score of 2-0. Gogo’s goalie Camillo stone-walled Loose Balls. Caroline and Alex each scored one goal to lead the squad’s offense. For Gogo, every game is a critical opportunity to grab wins early on.
