Winter 2019 Sunday CIBC Fire Pitch Men’s Soccer – Week 7

The Wombats (5-1-1) vs. INDY Team #4 (2-4-1) – Sunday, March 24, 2019

The Wombats were the higher ranked #2 seed playing the #3 seed, INDY Team #4. They played well and took the win to advance to the Championship Game with a final score of 3-1.  Zach Erny leads The Wombats this season in scoring and added to their stats this week with another goal bringing Zach Erny’s personal total to 3.  The semi-final win for The Wombats advanced them to the championship game.  Michael Garai scored the only goal for INDY Team #4 to save them from a shutout. This is the end of the road for INDY Team #4’s run in this league. There’s always next season.

FC MD UNITED (5-0-2) vs. Free Smoke FC (0-7) – Sunday, March 24, 2019

In this Semi-Final game, the #1 seed, FC MD UNITED, took on the #4 seed, Free Smoke FC.  FC MD UNITED continue to show they are a team that is good at scoring.  They’re averaging 4 goals per game. Maxim M led their team to victory with 5 (not a type-o) goals.  Jordan Truchan scored the only goal for Free Smoke FC to save them from a shutout. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise FC MD UNITED advanced to the Championship game.  Unfortunately for Free Smoke FC, this loss means the end of their season.
