Winter 2019 Saturday CIBC Fire Pitch Coed Soccer – Week 6

Chicago Cougars (2-1-3) vs. Jimmy Savile’s U10s (5-0-1) – Saturday, March 16, 2019

Chicago Cougars and Jimmy Savile’s U10s were extremely even in this one and ended all tied at 1-1. Starting to look like the Chicago Fire’s 2014 MLS season, Chicago Cougars have had a frustrating streak of ties for 4 games in a row.  Huralt scored the team’s only goal, keeping their team on the board.  This is Jimmy Savile’s U10s’s first tie this season and they’re currently sitting in second place in the standings. Karim Maalouf was the star player for Jimmy Savile’s U10s this week scorring the only goal for them.  Chicago Cougars finished the regular season in 3rd place.

 

Squad Goals (3-3-1) vs. Excelarators (1-3-2) – Saturday, March 16, 2019

The #6 seed, Excelarators, forfeited to the #4 seed, Squad Goals.  The forfeit puts Excelarators in sixth place in the standings table.  Squad Goals finished the regular season in 4th place.

 

Team America (6-0) vs. Post-Indy (1-5) – Saturday, March 16, 2019

With two games on their schedule this week, Team America used this game against Post-Indy to give them an extra win before playoffs with a final score of 8-1.  Team America had two games this week. They won both matches helping to boost them to the #1 rank in the standings.  Allison, Matt, Michael, and Timothy each scored two goals to guide the crew’s offense.  Post-Indy really didn’t have their best stuff in terms of scoring in this one, scoring less than their average of 1.5 goals per game this season.  Connor Cady scored the only goal for Post-Indy to save them from a shutout.  The one win they got this season wasn’t enough to make movement in the standings table as Post-Indy finished as the 9th place seed.

 

Team America (6-0) vs. Turtle Shells (1-3-2) – Saturday, March 16, 2019

With two games on their schedule this week, Team America used this game against Turtle Shells to give them an extra win before playoffs with a final score of 6-2.  They won both matches putting them at a 6-game winning streak.  Allison and Matt each scored two goals to help earn the crew the win while Michael and Mark each added one goal.  Turtle Shells really were unable to put up much of a defense in this one, surrendering more goals than their average of 3.2 goals against per game this year. They still had notable players including Steven Balderson and Andy Schmits, who each scored one goal for Turtle Shells.  Team America finished the regular season in 1st place.

CTAX F.C. (1-3-2) vs. Cat Facts FC (2-4-1) – Saturday, March 16, 2019

The #5 seed, Cat Facts FC, forfeited to the #6 seed, CTAX F.C.  CTAX F.C. finished the regular season in 6th place.
