Winter 2019 Monday CIBC Fire Pitch Flag Football – Week 7

Chi Town BlitZ (6-3) v. The Shotgun Seven (0-6) – Monday, March 25, and 2019

Heading into this Play-In games, The Shotgun Seven were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 30 points last week.  Additionally, they were the lower ranked #7 seed playing the #2 seed, Chi Town BlitZ.  Chi Town BlitZ put 44 on the board and held The Shotgun Seven to 20 points.  Chi Town BlitZ are the highest-scoring team in the league, averaging 44.4 points per game.  QB Dino Vazquez threw five scores, hitting Whitney Mckee for two of them.  During the loss for The Shotgun Seven, QB Adrian Garcia hit Maria for one touchdown.  Winning this play-in game means Chi Town BlitZ advanced to Semi-Finals.  It also means they had another game in the same night.  Double headers are either great because players are warmed up for the second game, or a challenge because their legs are dead.  Find out how they did in the recap below. Still Mad Bro? (2-5-1) v. No Punt Intended (2-5) – Monday, March 25, and 2019

The 4th place vs 5th place game is usually one of the most exciting matches of the playoff bracket. However, that wasn’t the case for this game.With a final score of 61-39, Still Mad Bro? grabbed this W. These teams had similar records with 2 wins each. The last time these two teams met in week 2, No Punt Intended won 40-25. The results were very different this time around. The final score of 61-39 reflects the hard work Still Mad Bro? put into every minute of the game.  Still Mad Bro? really brought their A game in this one, exceeding their average of 32.50 points per game.  QB Jake threw six TDs, finding Tristion Mcdowell for two of them.  No Punt Intended gave everything they had on in terms of scoring in this game despite the loss, exceeding their average of 33.70 points per game for the year. During the loss for No Punt Intended, QB Josh hit Leo for two touchdowns and rushed for two more.  Still Mad Bro? continue on their road to victory.  It also means they had another game in the same night. Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) (6-3) v. Chi Town BlitZ (6-3) – Monday, March 25, and 2019

In this extremely close contest Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T against Chi Town BlitZ, by only a 3-point margin.  The final score of 47-44 reflects the hard work Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) put into every minute of the game.  Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) really stepped up in this one, beating their average of 36.00 points per game. James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party (8-0-1) v. Still Mad Bro? (2-5-1) – Monday, March 25, and 2019

James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party, the #1 seed, took on the #4 seed, Still Mad Bro? in this Semi-Final game. These two teams met in week 4 and had a very well-matched game resulting in a 33-33 tie. Time around, it was a completely different story.  The final score of 40-21 reflects the hard work James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party put into every minute of the game.   QB Shaun Himmerick passed five touchdowns, finding Jamonti Robinson for two of them.  During the loss for Still Mad Bro?, QB Jake  hit Derrick Ramsey for one touchdown. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party advanced to the Championship game.  Read the recap below to find out how they did. James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party (8-0-1) v. Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) (6-3) – Monday, March 25, and 2019

It was a Championship Game written for the movies. The #1 team, James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party played the #2 team, Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) for the prestigious long-sleeve shirts forever capturing the moment of glory.  James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party put 28 on the board and held Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) to 24 points.  What a game! Only 4 points sepereated these two teams.  These guys, James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party, buckled down in this game, earning the win, despite scoring less than their avg. ppg of 38.60.  QB Shaun Himmerick passed two touchdowns, hitting Octavia Bonds for one of them and rushed for one more.  For Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.), in the loss, QB Kevin Linklater hit Donovan Clark for one touchdown and ran in two on his own. Congratulations to James Brown Celebrity Hottub Party on a great season and their championship win! We hope to see this squad return to defend their title.  Being one of the top two teams, Super Heroes In Training (S.H.I.T.) was optimistic heading into the championship match, so this loss is a tough one. But they definitely have what it takes to win and we expect to see them doing well again next season.
