Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) (8-0) vs. Spoons Deux (4-4) – Monday, March 25, 2019

Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 10 goals last week.  Additionally, they were the higher ranked #1 seed playing the #3 seed, Spoons Deux.  They confidently took the winwith a score of 7-3 to advance to the Championship Game. This was one of two games for Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) this week.  Ben T leads Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) this season in scoring and added 4 goals to their stats this match bringing Ben T’s personal total to 20, which is the highest in the league. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) advanced to the Championship game.  Read the recap below to find out how they did.  Spoons Deux didn’t have their best showing on the defensive end in this one, allowing more goals than their average of 2.5 GAPG for the year.  Cary was the star player for Spoons Deux this week scoring all three goals for their team.  Unfortunately for Spoons Deux, this loss means the end of their season.

Game of Throw-Ins (Young) (3-4-1) vs. Avocado Discoballs (5-3) – Monday, March 25, 2019

Game of Throw-Ins (Young) were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 5 goals last week.  However, they were the lower ranked #4 seed playing the #2 seed, Avocado Discoballs. They would have to play their best if they wanted to advance to the next round.  The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeepers for both teams with a final score of 0-0.  The game went into a shootout where Game of Throw-Ins (Young) came out on top winning 1-0 in a shootout.  The exciting win for Game of Throw-Ins (Young) advanced them to the championship game. In this Championship Game, the #1 team, Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) played the #4 team, Game of Throw-Ins (Young), for the coveted Chicago Sport and Social Club long-sleeve champ shirts to forever capture their moment of glory. With a final score of 4-0 Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) are the 2019 Monday CIBC Champions! Shout out to the goalkeeper for Game of Throw-In’s (Harry), Brian, who had a shutout, and Ben T, Megan Harry, Sarah, and Brandon who each scored a goal in the win.  Losing the championship game is never easy, but Game of Throw-Ins (Young) lost with grace. We hope to see them back next season for another chance at the title.
