Winter 2019 Monday CIBC Fire Pitch Coed Soccer – Week 6

Team Awesome (1-3-2) vs. Spoons Deux (3-3) – Monday, March 11, 2019

This game was their first win of the season and it helped keep them out of last place in the standings. Team Awesome wrapped up the regular season with a 2-1 win against Spoons Deux.  Evan Williamson and Joe each kicked one goal to help gain the crew the victory.  Spoons Deux really didn’t have their best stuff on offense in this one, scoring less than their average of 2.3 goals per game this year.  Liz scored the only goal for Spoons Deux to save them from a shutout.  Team Awesome finished the regular season in 6th place.  The loss for Spoons Deux leaves them as the #4 seed heading into playoffs.

 

MVW FC (4-2) vs. The Gunners (2-3-1) – Monday, March 11, 2019

MVW FC beat The Gunners 9-2 in this week’s match.  They’re on fire Christain was unstoppable and scored 6 goals to lead the team’s attack. Patrick Morey also contributed to the team’s final score with two goals while Daniel Landon added one.  The Gunners really didn’t have their best showing in this game, surrendering more goals than their average of 3.3 goals against per game this year. The Gunners still had notable players including Eric and Anita, who each kicked one goal.  The loss for The Gunners leaves them as the #5 seed heading into playoffs.

 

Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) (6-0) vs. Avocado Discoballs (4-2) – Monday, March 11, 2019

Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) beat Avocado Discoballs 3-1 in this week’s match.  Avocado Discoballs really didn’t have their best stuff in this one, scoring less than their average of 2.8 GPG for the season.  Ben Ritter scored the only goal for Avocado Discoballs to get their team on the board and to avoid the shutout.  Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) continue to show they are a team that is good at scoring.  They’re averaging 4 goals per game.  Ben T racked up a hat trick to lead the squad’s offense.  Game of Throw-In’s (Harry) finished the regular season in 1st place, and they will play the winner of the 8th vs 9th place play-in game.

 

Game of Throw-Ins (Young) (1-4-1) vs. GT Soccer (0-4-2) – Monday, March 11, 2019

This game was their first win of the season and it helped keep them out of last place in the standings. Game of Throw-Ins (Young) wrapped up the regular season with a 4-0 win against GT Soccer.  GT Soccer were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this one, and failed to make it onto the scoreboard.  Kyle lasered in two goals while Richie Alday and Jay each added one.  Their goalie, Mandalla , deserves much of the credit after earning a shutout. This loss for GT Soccer pushes them down to the #8 seed. Game of Throw-Ins (Young) finished the regular season in 7th place.
