Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Men’s 7v7 Flag Football League Recap – Week 2

legion of boom (2-0) v. River Shannons (0-2) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

By the score of 34-14, legion of boom recorded a lopsided Win in week 2 over River Shannons to stay unbeaten. They really brought their A game in this one, exceeding their first game point total. QB Shafiq Said passed for four TDs, hitting Mohammad Elmosa for one of them and rushed for one more with his legs. The five total TDs brings his season up to a league-leading nine through the first two weeks. Da Beers (0-2-0) are next on the schedule for legion of boom, as they look to keep up the momentum and take their winning streak up to three games. Despite the loss, River Shannons did everything they could in this one, beating their total from their opening contest. During the loss, QB William Walker hit Christian Owen and Doug Wagner for their only scores of the game. As for River Shannons they will move on to a game with Chicago Steelers (1-1-0) coming up in week 3 as they strive to come back from this one.

 

Money Team (2-0) v. Chicago Steelers (1-1) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

Money Team and Chicago Steelers competed in a nail-biter. By the score of 20-19, Money Team got a tight win to stay unbeaten and in first place in the league standings. Money Team may need to pick things up on the offensive end of the field however if they want to keep winning, as they are the lowest-scoring team in the league through the first two weeks. Jack Howell and Jack Kutschke each delivered a TD pass in this contest to help the team secure the win. This week Money Team will line-up against Grand Theft Auto (1-1-0), as they look to keep up the momentum and take their winning streak up to three games. Even with this loss, Chicago Steelers are one of the higher scoring teams in the league this season, averaging 23.00 points per game. During the loss, QB Zach Broujos delivered three scores, hitting Adam Haus and Vin for one touchdown apiece while also scampering in one with his legs. For Chicago Steelers next on the calendar is River Shannons (0-2-0) as they attempt to come back from this gut-wrenching loss.

 

Grand Theft Auto (1-1) v. Da Beers (0-2) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

Da Beers forfeited to Grand Theft Auto in week 2 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Men’s INT Flag Football League as Da Beers did not have enough players to field a legal team. Exiting week 2, Grand Theft Auto will look ahead to keep their early season momentum and take their winning streak up to two games. Money Team (2-0-0) are next on the docket for Grand Theft Auto.
