This win is the second in a row for Plant Based Plants, and it bumps them into a three-way tie for third place in the league standings with 12 points. Torts Illustrated showed their offensive potential and created scoring chances throughout on their way to a convincing 4-0 victory over Kick in a Box. Torts Illustrated really brought their A game, surpassing their average of 1.4 goals per game. Hugh Ebb recorded a brace and Tomide Owolabi and Adm Lefkowitz knocked in a goal apiece to help Torts Illustrated record their second win of the season. Shout-out to goalkeeper, Josh, for their first shutout this season! Next up for Torts Illustrated is a match-up versus FIS FC (2-3-0) coming up in Week 6 as they look to close out their regular season schedule on a high note. Kick in a Box struggled on both sides of the pitch in this contest as they failed to score a single goal for the second time this season. Trailblazers (5-0) vs. Loins (1-4) – Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Two Trailblazers players scored goals, and GK Mike Coutre made sure those were more than enough. The Trailblazers netted two goals, and GK Mike Coutre made multiple big saves, as Trailblazers shut out Loins, 2-0 in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer League. Trailblazers have had a strong offense so far this season. They are averaging just over 3 goals per game. Mike Goldberg and Adam Altman accounted for the teams two goals in this contest. The defenders are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Mike Coutre earn a shutout. Tyler Amorese and Annie Regan each fired in one goal apiece to help lift their squad to their fourth victory of the season. The defenders did a great job in this game by helping Bobby Glasgow earn another shutout. Kick in a Box (2-3-0) are next up on the calendar for Grass Kickers coming up in Week 6, as they look to notch their fifth win of the season prior to heading into the postseason. FIS FC struggled to get anything going offensively for the second straight game as they failed to record a single goal for the second time in the last two weeks. Next up for FIS FC is a showdown against Torts Illustrated (2-3-0) coming up in Week 6, as they look to get back on track and enter the playoffs on a positive note.
