Peanut Gallery (1-0-0) vs. Rooney Toons (0-1-0) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Peanut Gallery dominated Rooney Toons 7-0 behind four goals from David Sippel and scoring contributions from two other Peanut Gallery players on opening night of the Fall Wednesday Coed Rec/Int 8v8 soccer league at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. It did not take long for Peanut Gallery to runaway with this match. Shoutout to goalkeeper Richie Foreman on their first shutout of the season! Peanut Gallery improves to 1-0-0 after the 7-0 rout of Rooney Toons and will look to continue their stellar start to the season coming up on Wednesday night against Soccer? I hardly even know her. (1-0). Rooney Toons really struggled on both ends of the field in this contest. It is only week one, so Rooney Toons has significant amounts of opportunities to pick it up on both ends of the field. For Rooney Toons next up is a game with TQL (0-1-0) coming up on Wednesday night as they try to put this loss in their rearview mirror and try to get into the win column.

 

Soccer? I hardly even know her. (1-0-0) vs. TQL (0-1-0) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Soccer? I hardly even know her. used a collective offensive effort to defeat TQL, 5-1, at the Lincoln Park TURF field in opening night action of the Fall Wednesday Coed Rec/Int 8v8 soccer league. Taylor, Harr and Adam all contributed goals to the team’s victory. Peanut Gallery (1-0-0) are next on the docket for Soccer? I hardly even know her., as they look to tally another win early on this season.  The season is still young, and TQL has significant amounts of opportunities to go back to the drawing board on offense. Alex Rohder scored the only goal for TQL to get their team on the board and avoid the shutout.  For TQL they will move on to a game with Rooney Toons (0-1-0) coming up on Wednesday night as they attempt to bounce back from this lopsided defeat.

 

Chicago Lightfooters FC (1-0) vs. Beast Incarnates (0-1) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Beast Incarnates could not field enough players to play a legal game and had to take a forfeit to Chicago Lightfooters FC on Wednesday night at the Lincoln Park TURF field.  For Chicago Lightfooters FC, a win is a win and each contest is a critical opportunity to get cruising at the outset of the season. Next up for Chicago Lightfooters is a match-up with Them (0-0-1) as they look to record their second straight victory.  As for Beast Incarnates, they will have a match-up against Team Titans (0-0-1) coming up on Wednesday night as they try to rebound from this opening night defeat.

 

Team Titans (0-0-1) vs. Them (0-0-1) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

The offenses were filled with shot attempts on Wednesday evening in Week 1 action at the Lincoln Park TURF field, but the goals were hard to come by. Both teams picked up a goal and the defenses fought it out til the very end as Team Titans and Them picked up a 1-1 tie. This week’s result puts Team Titans and Them in eighth place in the standings. Simon Lockwood-Bean scored the team’s only goal for Team Titans, keeping their team on the board. Eddie Maynard was the star player for Them this week as they scored the squads only goal in this contest. Exiting week 1, Team Titans looks ahead to Beast Incarnates (0-1-0) who are next on the schedule coming up on Wednesday night.  For Them next up is Chicago Lightfooters FC (1-0-0) coming up on Wednesday evening as they try to pick up their first victory of the season.

 

Grass Kickers (1-0) vs. INDY Team #5 (0-1) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Grass Kickers secured its first win of the Fall Wednesday Coed Rec/Int 8v8 soccer league in dominate fashion, blanking INDY Team #5 3-0 and handing INDY Team #5 their first loss of the season on Wednesday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Robert Thomashow, Jon Satas and Owlu notched their first goals of the season for Grass Kickers to propel them to victory. Grass Kickers’s goalie Bobby Glasgow kept their net clean. It is only week one, and INDY Team #5 has plenty of weeks to get better on the offensive end.  Grass Kickers will look to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 2. Next up is a throwdown with Torts Illustrated (0-1-0) coming up on Wednesday night. For INDY Team #5 they’ll move on to a game with Trailblazers (1-0-0) coming up in Week 2 as they attempt to bounce back from this defeat.

 

Trailblazers (1-0) vs. Torts Illustrated (0-1) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Trailblazers started their Fall Wednesday Coed Rec/Int 8v8 soccer league season on a high note on Wednesday night as they defeated Torts Illustrated 2-1 at the Lincoln Park TURF field. In what should be no surprise to anyone moving forward, Trailblazers poured on the pressure to start the match as they dominated pace of play and possession. Mike Goldberg and Rachel Barnett provided the offensive firepower for Trailblazers in this contest to help secure their squads first victory of the season. Exiting week 1, Trailblazers will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. Next up is a matchup with INDY Team #5 (0-1-0) coming up on Wednesday night. The season is still young, and Torts Illustrated has plenty of games to go back to the drawing board. Tomide Owolabi scored the only goal for Torts Illustrated to prevent the shutout. For Torts Illustrated next up is a date with Grass Kickers (1-0-0) coming up on Wednesday night as they look to bounce back from this heartbreaking Week 1 defeat.

 

Kick in a Box (1-0) vs. Loins (0-1) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Kick in a Box earned their first victory of the Fall Wednesday Coed Rec/Int 8v8 soccer league season on Wednesday evening when it took down Loins 2-0 at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Don Lawrence and Vincent Taweel scored their first goals of the season for Kick in a Box. Kick in a Box’s goalkeeper Mike Greer should also receive a ton of praise for the clean sheet. For Kick in a Box, every contest is a critical game to grab wins early in the season. Next up is a battle against FIS FC (0-1-0) coming up on Wednesday night as they attempt to record their second consecutive victory. The season is still young, and Loins has tons of opportunities to get better on offense. The ball just could not find the back of the net in this contest. For Loins next on the calendar is Plant Based Plants (1-0-0) coming up in Week 2 as they attempt to record their first point(s) of the season.

 

Plant Based Plants (1-0) vs. FIS FC (0-1) – Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Cornelius Mcgrath fired in two goals to lead Plant Based Plants to a 2-1 win over FIS FC on opening night of the Fall Wednesday Coed Rec/Int 8v8 soccer league at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Goalkeeper Christopher Morgan was fantastic as well in this contest, allowing just one goal to help secure their squad this victory. For Plant Based Plants, next up is a showdown with Loins (0-1-0) coming up on Wednesday night, as they look to keep up the winning momentum.  Even with a loss, FIS FC has a significant amount of opportunities remaining to get better on the offensive side of the ball. Nick Tatro scored the only goal for FIS FC to save them from a shutout. For FIS FC next up is a game against Kick in a Box (1-0-0) coming up in Week 2 as they look to bounce back from this frustrating defeat.
