Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football – Week 2 Recap

Sudden Impact (2-0) v. WAWG (1-1) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

Sudden Impact extended their winning streak to 2 games with a thrilling 20-14 victory over WAWG on Wednesday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. With the win, Sudden Impact has moved into a tie for first place in the league standings with TD Train. Sudden Impact really buckled down in this game, winning despite allowing more points than their first game. QB Blake Hammond provided all the offense for Sudden Impact in this contest, tossing for one touchdown, which was caught by Anthony Walker, while also rushing in two on his own. Letz Werk (1-1-0) are next on the calendar for Sudden Impact, as they look to keep up the momentum and take their winning streak up to 3 games. WAWG were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this game, scoring less than their total from their opening contest. In the loss for WAWG, QB Andre Locke hit Keith Lewis and Jonathan Henderson for their only scores in the game.  As for WAWG next on the schedule is Loaded (0-1-0) as they try to bounce back from this heartbreaking defeat.

 

Lime Cats (1-1) v. Letz Werk (1-1) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

With a final score of 26-6, Lime Cats have their eyes on the coveted championship shirts. Lime Cats may have to pick up the pace on offense however if they are going to keep rolling, as these guys are currently ranked 7th overall in the league in total points scored. QB Tomas Ross passed for two TDs for Lime Cats in this contest, with Marcel Poindexter on the receiving end for both. QB Tomas Ross also rushed in one on his own to help seal the week 2 victory. Even though they lost, Letz Werk are one of the higher scoring teams in the league this year, averaging 24.00 ppg through the first two weeks. Unfortunately, most of those points came in week 1. In the loss, QB Damon Clark hit Monet Mailey for their only score of the game. For Lime Cats, each contest is a critical game to get cruising at the outset of the season. Next up is a battle against Don’t Touchdown There (1-1-0). For Letz Werk next on the calendar is Sudden Impact (2-0-0) as they strive to bounce back.

 

Don’t Touchdown There (1-1) v. Chicago Beers (0-2) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

Now, that is what we have been waiting for. In front of an empty Lincoln Park TURF Field, Don’t Touchdown There took advantage of the atmosphere to overpower Chicago Beers, 37-0. They really stepped up in this one, exceeding their opening game point total. QB Ryan Murphy provided 5 total scores, four passing and one rushing. QB Ryan Murphy hit Will Cooper and Jeremy Edwards for two apiece. Chicago Beers were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this game, scoring less than their total from their Week 1 game. Don’t Touchdown There will try to gain another game in the league Standings with another W in week 3. Next up is a battle with Lime Cats (1-1-0). As for Chicago Beers next on the docket is INDY Team #10 (0-1-0) as they strive to rebound from this lopsided defeat.

 

KaBoom! (1-1) v. INDY Team #10 (0-1) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

KaBoom! shut out INDY Team #10 in week 2 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. They really stepped up in this one, exceeding their opening game point total. QB Shaun Himmerick accounted for all four of his squads scores, tossing three TD passes, finding Nora Buganski for one of them, while also scampering one in with his legs. KaBoom! will look to keep pace in the league Standings with another W in week 3. TD Train (2-0-0) are next on the schedule for KaBoom!. They have only played one game, but INDY Team #10 are the lowest-scoring team in the league so far. Good news is that there are still six more games to go before the playoffs begin. As for INDY Team #10 next on the calendar is Chicago Beers (0-2-0) as they strive to shake off this defeat.

 

TD Train (2-0) v. Loaded (0-1) – Wednesday, September 23, and 2020

TD Train and Loaded participated in a nail-biter in week 2 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. With a final score of 20-18, TD Train are only one of two teams that remain undefeated this season through the first two weeks. They are the higher-scoring team in the league through the first two weeks as they are averaging 26 PPG. QB Brett Edlbeck threw one touchdown, which was caught by Samuel Grzywacz and ran for one with his legs. Adam Guyes took one to the house for TD Train to help secure the huge week 2 victory. TD Train will look to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 3. Next up is a battle with KaBoom! in a huge week 3 matchup. It was only their first game of the year so Loaded still has tons of games remaining on their schedule to pick it up on offense. During the loss, QB Troy Boyd Jr and Demetrius Chick each threw for one touchdown. Lamar Dawson also recorded a Defensive TD, but it just was not enough to get past a determined TD Train crew. (1-1-0).   As for Loaded next on the schedule is WAWG (1-1-0) as they attempt to bounce back from this tough defeat.
