Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League Recap! – Week 6

Letz Werk (4-2) v. Loaded (4-2) – Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Letz Werk picked up their third consecutive victory to close out their regular season schedule in Week 6 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League with a dominating 46-6 victory over Loaded. This is the third time this season that Letz Werk has recorded a victory of 40 points or more. The leagues overall leader in total TD’s during the regular season, QB Damon Clark, tossed five more TD passes for Letz Werk in this contest to help seal the victory. With the win, Letz Werk closes out their regular season schedule with an overall 4-2 record. They will begin their postseason run as the overall #3 seed and will take on #6 seed WAWG (4-2) in the Quarterfinals coming up on Wednesday night. Loaded had two games on their schedule in Week 6 and struggled to get anything going in their first game of the night against Letz Werk. QB Troy Boyd Jr. tossed one TD pass for Loaded in this contest which was caught by Vino Bland for their only score in this game. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Loaded. Loaded needed to quickly put this game in their rear-view mirror as they needed to immediately step back onto the field and take on INDY Team #10 (1-5) to close out their regular season schedule. Loaded (4-2) v. INDY Team #10 (1-5) – Wednesday, October 21, 2020

QB Troy Boyd Jr tossed a season-high 8 TD Passes to seven different receivers as Loaded crushed INDY Team #10 by a final score of 54-6 in Week 6 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Loaded bounced back nicely from their lopsided defeat in the game prior and secured their fourth win to close out their regular season schedule. Loaded will begin their postseason run on Wednesday, November 4th as the overall #5 seed and will see them take on #4 seed TD Train (4-2) in the Quarterfinals. INDY Team #10 struggled to get anything going in this contest and suffered their fifth defeat of the season. QB Carly Callans tossed one TD pass for INDY Team #10 in this contest, which was caught by John Koehn, for their only score in this game. INDY Team #10 had to shake this loss off quickly as they needed to step right back onto the field and take on Don’t Touchdown There (1-5) as they were also scheduled for a double header in Week 6. Lime Cats (4-2) v. TD Train (4-2) – Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Lime Cats secured the overall #2 seed in Week 6 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League with a solid 26-19 victory over TD Train. QB Thomas Ross produced four total scores for Lime Cats in this contest, three passing TDs and one rushing TD. Lime Cats finish their regular season schedule with an overall 4-2 record and see them sit in a five-way tie for second place in the league standings. The Lime Cats 2-1 head-to-head record against the other four teams tied with the same 4-2 overall record gave the Lime Cats the best tiebreaker and thus the overall #2 seed. Lime Cats will begin their postseason run coming up on Wednesday night against the winner of the #7 seed KaBoom! (2-4) v. #10 seed Chicago Beers (1-5) game in the Quarterfinals. TD Train gave it their all but came up just short in this contest. QB Brett Edlbeck tossed their 11th, 12th and 13th TD passes of the year in this contest, connecting with Samuel Grzywacz for two of them, but it just was not enough to keep pace with a high-flying Lime Cats offense. The loss dropped TD Train’s regular season record to 4-2 and will see them begin their postseason campaign as the overall #4 seed. They will take the field on Wednesday, November 4th against #5 seed Loaded (4-2) in the Quarterfinals.

 

INDY Team #10 (1-5) v. Don’t Touchdown There (1-5) – Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Picking up their first W of the season, INDY Team #10 rebounded very nicely from their blowout defeat in the game prior as they defeated Don’t Touchdown There in a thrilling 13-12 victory in Week 6 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. QB Carly Callans led the way once again for INDY Team #10 in this contest, tossing two TD scores, one to Lan Tran and the other to Kohl Davis, to help secure their squad their first win on the season. The win brings INDY Team #10’s record up to 1-5 on the season and will see them begin their postseason campaign coming up on Wednesday night as the overall #9 seed. They will take the field against this very same team, #8 seed Don’t Touchdown There (1-5) in Round 1, with the winner stepping right back onto the field to take on #1 seed Sudden Impact (5-1) in the Quarterfinals. Don’t Touchdown There had their best offensive performance since Week 2 but still came up just short in this contest. Marissa Stafford and Ryan Murphy each tossed one TD pass for Don’t Touchdown There in this contest, both of which were caught by Will Cooper. The loss drops Don’t Touchdown There’s regular season record down to 1-5 on the season and will see them begin their postseason campaign as the overall #8 seed. They will take on this very same #9 seed INDY Team #10 (1-5) in Round 1 coming up on Wednesday night with the winner stepping right back onto the field to take on #1 seed Sudden Impact (5-1) in the Quarterfinals.

 

Sudden Impact (5-1) v. KaBoom! (2-4) – Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Sudden Impact locked up the overall #1 seed in the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League with a solid 21-12 victory over KaBoom! in Week 6. QB Blake Hammond led the charge for Sudden Impact in this contest, tossing three TD strikes, two of which were caught by Ian Gaines, to help their squad pick up their fifth win of the season. Sudden Impact will begin their postseason campaign as the overall #1 seed and will take on the winner of the #8 seed Don’t Touchdown There (1-5) v. #9 seed INDY Team #10 (1-5) coming up on Wednesday night in the Quarterfinals. KaBoom! struggled offensively in this contest, being held to their lowest scoring total since Week 4. QB Shaun Himmerick did everything they could to keep their squad in this game, tossing two TD passes to Darquil Brown, but it just was not enough to keep up with a determined Sudden Impact crew. The loss drops KaBoom!’s record down to 2-4 on the year and will see them begin their postseason campaign coming up on Wednesday night as the overall #7 seed. They will take the field against #10 seed Chicago Beers (1-5) in Round 1 with the winner staying on the field to take on #2 seed Lime Cats (4-2) in the Quarterfinals.

 

WAWG (4-2) v. Chicago Beers (1-5) – Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Chicago Beers were unable to field enough players to field a legal team and had to take a forfeit loss to WAWG in Week 6 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. The win was the third in a row for WAWG as they concluded their regular season schedule with an overall 4-2 record. They will begin their postseason campaign coming up on Wednesday night as the overall #6 seed and will take on #3 seed Letz Werk (4-2) in the Quarterfinals. The loss for Chicago Beers was their third in a row and will see them begin their postseason campaign as the overall #10 seed. They will take the field coming up on Wednesday night against #7 seed KaBoom! (2-4) in Round 1 with the winner staying on the field to take on #2 seed Lime Cats (4-2) in the Quarterfinals.
