Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League Recap! – Week 5

KaBoom! (2-3) v. Chicago Beers (1-4) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

Chicago Beers came up on the short end of a 19-0 loss to KaBoom! in the showdown of one-win teams in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. KaBoom! really brought it in this one, exceeding their average of 14.60 points per game. QB Shaun Himmerick provided all the scoring for KaBoom! in this contest, tossing three scores, connecting with Hassan Myles for two of them. Defensively, KaBoom! played awesome as they pitched their second shutout of the season. Next up for KaBoom! coming up in Week 6 is a crucial battle versus Sudden Impact (4-1-0) as they look to bring their record back up to the .500 mark and improve their postseason seeding. Chicago Beers really struggled to get it going in this one, scoring less than their average of 12.00 points per game this season. Next up for Chicago Beers is a showdown against WAWG (3-2) coming up in Week 6 as they look to snap their current two-game losing streak.

 

Loaded (3-1) v. Lime Cats (3-2) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

QB Troy Boyd Jr tossed a season-high four TD passes as Loaded eked out a 27-26 victory over Lime Cats in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. With the slim one-point victory, Loaded hope to keep their winning momentum going as they advance into the playoffs.  Loaded really showed up in this game, topping their average of 18.00 points per game. Coming up in Week 6, Loaded will have two games on their slate to close out their regular season schedule. They will first take the field against Letz Werk (3-2-0) before stepping right back onto the field to take on INDY Team #10 (0-4). Despite the loss, Lime Cats really brought their best on offense in this one, topping their average of 22.20 ppg for the year. During the loss for Lime Cats, QB Tomas Ross tallied four total scores, tossing three TD passes while also rushing one in with his legs. TD Train (4-1-0) are next up on the schedule coming up in Week 6 for Lime Cats, as they attempt to secure their fourth win of the season.

 

Letz Werk (3-2) v. INDY Team #10 (0-4) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

Letz Werk held nothing back in its 42-0 victory against INDY Team #10 in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Letz Werk brought their A game in this one, topping their average of 27.40 points per game. QB Damon Clark accounted for four of Let Werk’s six total scores, tossing three TD strikes to three different receivers, while also rushing one into the endzone with his legs. Loaded (3-1-0) are next up on the docket for Letz Werk coming up in Week 6, as they look to close out their regular season schedule on a high note. INDY Team #10 really struggled to get it going in terms of scoring in this one, scoring less than their average of 6.80 points per game for the year. INDY Team #10 now has failed to score at least a point in three of their first four games. The good news for INDY Team #10 is that they will have two opportunities to put a 1 in the win column coming up in Week 6 as they have a double header on their slate. They will first take the field against Loaded (3-1-0) before stepping right back on to the field to take on Don’t Touchdown There (1-4).

 

Sudden Impact (4-1) v. TD Train (4-1) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

Sudden Impact and TD Train competed in an absolute shoot-out in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League, totaling 59 points. Unfortunately for TD Train, they were on the wrong end of the 40-19 result, suffering their first defeat of the year. The final score of 40-19 reflects the hard work Sudden Impact put into every minute of the game. Sudden Impact brought their A game in this game, putting up a season-high 40 points and topping their average of 24 points per game. QB Blake Hammond passed for five scores, connecting with Ian Gaines for two of them. Sudden Impact will close out their regular season schedule against KaBoom! (2-3-0) coming up in Week 6, as they look to secure a top-three playoff seed. TD Train really struggled to get rolling on offense in this one, scoring less than their average of 24.40 points per game this season. For TD Train, in the loss, QB Brett Edlbeck hit Samuel Grzywacz and Jose Martinez for one touchdown apiece while also rushing in one with his legs. TD Train will need to shake off this loss quickly as they have another tough match-up coming up in Week 6 against Lime Cats (3-2-0) to close out their regular season schedule.

 

WAWG (3-2) v. Don’t Touchdown There (1-4) – Wednesday, October 14, and 2020

WAWG, which has the overall #1 ranked Offense and #1 ranked Defense, blanked Don’t Touchdown There in Week 5 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. WAWG are the highest-scoring team in the league, averaging 32.0 points per game. WAWG also have the best defensive unit in the league, allowing only 8.0 points per game. QB Keith Lewis delivered three passing touchdowns in this contest for WAWG, finding Leshawn Ward for two of them. WAWG also posted four Defensive TDs in this contest, two of which were returned by Lamont Williams. Chicago Beers (1-4-0) are next up on the docket for WAWG coming up in Week 6, as they look to secure their third consecutive victory prior to the postseason beginning. Don’t Touchdown There really didn’t have their best stuff on the offensive end in this game, scoring less than their average of 8.60 ppg for the season. It was the second straight game that Don’t Touchdown There has been shutout.
