Tuesday Sheridan Park TURF Coed INT 7v7 Soccer – Week 6 Recap

Team Steinborn (5-1-0) vs. INDY Team #4 (1-5-0) – Tuesday, August 25, 2020

As was the case earlier this season, Team Steinborn won the rematch against INDY Team #4. This game finished with a thrilling final score line of 6-5. Team Steinborn are playing a fantastic offensive season. They are averaging 6 goals per game. Four different players tallied their names onto the scorer’s sheet, including the leagues co-leading goal scorer Sam Meyer (6), who knocked in two of the team’s goals to help gain the crew the W. This crucial Week 6 victory locked in Team Steinborn as the overall #1 seed heading into the postseason tournament coming up on Tuesday night. They will take the field against this same #4 ranked INDY Team #4 (1-5-0) squad in the semifinals. The winner of this game will have an hour break before they take the field for the Championship game! INDY Team #4 had two games this week. If they had only won this game, it might have been a fantastic week. Instead, they ended up with the split but more about their second game in the recap below.

 

INDY Team #4 (1-5-0) vs. Club Rez (2-5-0) – Tuesday, August 25, 2020

Club Rez could not pull together enough players for this game and had to forfeit to INDY Team #4. The win for INDY Team #4 was their first of the regular season and will now see them begin their playoff journey coming up on Tuesday night as the overall #4 seed. They will take the field coming up on Tuesday night against #1 Team Steinborn (5-1-0) in the semifinals. The winner of this game will have an hour break before they step back onto the field for the Championship game! Club Rez would have another game on their schedule on Tuesday night and were hoping to redeem themselves in game 2.  More on that game below.

 

ASPCA (5-1-0) vs. Club Rez (2-5-0) – Tuesday, August 25, 2020

Club Rez were once again unable to field enough players to play a legal game on Tuesday night and had to take their second straight forfeit loss.  The two losses on Tuesday night drop Club Rez into the #3 seed heading into postseason play. They will take the field coming up on Tuesday night against #2 ASPCA (5-1-0) in the semifinals. The winner of this game will step right back onto the field on Tuesday night and compete for the league Championship! ASPCA recorded an easy forfeit W on Tuesday night as their opponents Club Rez did not have enough players to field a legal team. The win locks in ASPCA as the overall #2 seed heading into the postseason. They will take the field coming up on Tuesday night against this same #3 Club Rez crew (2-5-0) in the semifinals with an opportunity to advance into the Championship game!
