Savages (5-2) v. KaBoom! (5-2) – Thursday, October 29, 2020

Savages recorded their third straight victory to close out their regular season schedule in the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League as they defeated KaBoom! 7-6 in a defensive battle. It was a spectacular performance on the defensive end of the field for Savages in this contest as they beat their season points against average of 11.6 ppg. QB Deshon Conley delivered one touchdown pass for Savages, which was caught by Sleezie J Miles, for their only score in this game. With this Week 6 victory, Savages will enter the upcoming postseason tournament as the overall #2 seed. Coming up on Thursday night, #2 seed Savages will take on #7 seed Can’t Find The Cleat (1-5) in the Quarterfinals. KaBoom! did not have their best stuff in this game offensively, scoring less than their average of 23.70 points per game this season. QB Shaun Himmerick rushed in KaBoom!’s only score of this game. KaBoom! needed to put this loss behind them quickly as they needed to step right back onto the field and take on Big Pick Energy (4-2) as they were scheduled for the double header in Week 6. KaBoom! did not let their narrow 7-6 defeat in the hour before linger into their second game of the night as they shut out Big Pick Energy 18-0 in Week 6 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. These guys, KaBoom!, really buckled down in this game, emerging victorious, despite scoring less than their avg. points per game of 23.70. QB Shaun Himmerick delivered one touchdown through the air, which was caught by Edward Boateng and rushed for two more with his legs. The Week 6 double header split brings KaBoom!’s regular season record up to 5-2 on the year and will begin their postseason journey coming up on Thursday night as the overall #3 seed. They will take the field coming up on Thursday night against #6 seed No As Club (3-4) in the Quarterfinals. Big Pick Energy could not get anything going on the offensive end of the field in this contest and suffered their first shutout of the season. This Week 6 loss pushes Big Pick Energy’s regular season record down to 4-2 on the year and will now see them begin their postseason campaign as the overall #4 seed. They will take the field coming up on Thursday night against #5 seed Ballz Deep (3-3) in the Quarterfinals.

 

Patomic Bomb (8-0) v. Can’t Find The Cleat (1-5) – Thursday, October 29, 2020

Patomic Bomb blew past Can’t Find The Cleat in the regular season finale for both squads in Week 6 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Patomic Bomb put 35 on the board and held Can’t Find The Cleat to just 7 points. Patomic Bomb really stepped up on D in this one, beating their season points against average of 8.8 points per game. QB Clayton Sanger delivered four touchdowns through the air for Patomic Bomb in this one, connecting with Izzy Rahim for two of them. Patomic Bomb could not celebrate this victory for too long however as they needed to step right back onto the field and take on Ballz Deep (3-3) in the second half of their Week 6 double header. More on this game below. Can’t Find The Cleat were unable to get rolling on offense in this game, scoring less than their average of 10.80 ppg for the season. Peter recorded a Defensive TD for Can’t Find The Cleat for their only score in this game. Ballz Deep forfeited to Patomic Bomb in Week 6 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League as Ballz Deep could not field enough starters to play a legal game. With this Week 6 double header sweep, Patomic Bomb completes the perfect regular season and will now begin their postseason journey as the overall #1 seeded team in the tournament. #1 seed Patomic Bomb will take on #8 seed Balls & Dolls (1-6) in the Quarterfinals coming up on Thursday night. The forfeit loss drops Ballz Deep regular season record down to 3-3 and they will now begin their postseason campaign as the overall #5 seeded team. #5 seed Ballz Deep will take on #4 seed Big Pick Energy (4-2) in the Quarterfinals coming up on Thursday night.
