Thursday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football – Week 5 Recap

Patomic Bomb (6-0) v. No As Club (2-4) – Thursday, October 15, and 2020

Although the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League has had close matchups all season long, the first placed Patomic Bomb crew dominated No As Club 45-6 in Week 5. The final score of 45-6 reflects the hard work Patomic Bomb put into every minute of the game. Patomic Bomb really stepped up on the defensive end in this game, beating their season points against average of 10.5 points per game. QB Vincent Ngo delivered six total TDs, connecting with Arthur Augustynski for three of them and scampered for one with his legs. Coming up in Week 6, Patomic Bomb will have two opportunities to lockup the overall #1 seed heading into the postseason as they have a double header on their slate to close out their regular season schedule. They will first take the field against Can’t Find The Cleat (1-4-0) before having to step right back onto the field to take on Ballz Deep (3-2). No As Club really were unable to get rolling in this one, scoring less than their average of 23.30 points per game for the year. For No As Club, QB Taylor Vennetti hit Nicole Dale for their only score in this game. Balls & Dolls (1-5-0) is next up on the schedule for No As Club coming up in Week 6, as they attempt to rebound from this lopsided loss and improve their seeding prior to the postseason starting.

 

Savages (4-2) v. Balls & Dolls (1-5) – Thursday, October 15, and 2020

Savages shutout Balls & Dolls 38-0 in Week 5 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Savages really brought their A game on defense in this game, beating their season points against average of 12.5 ppg. It was the first shutout that Savages have pitched this season. Savages tallied three Defensive TDs in this contest, two of which were returned to the house by Deshon Conley. Offensively, QB Vince threw three touchdowns for Savages in this contest, hitting Javonte Keys for one of them. KaBoom! (4-1-0) are next up on the schedule for Savages coming up in Week 6 to close out their regular season schedule, as they look to secure a top-2 playoff seed heading into the postseason. Balls & Dolls had two games on their slate in Week 5 and really struggled to get it going in this game, scoring less than their average of 9.80 points per game for the year. Balls & Dolls needed to quickly shake off this loss as they needed to step right back onto the field to take on KaBoom! (4-1). More on this game below.

 

KaBoom! (4-1) v. Balls & Dolls (1-5) – Thursday, October 15, and 2020

KaBoom! and Balls & Dolls had in a close one in this Week 5 matchup of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. With a final score of 19-12, KaBoom! snatched a huge victory and hope to keep this winning momentum going as they advance in playoffs. These guys, KaBoom!, really fought for this one, earning the win, despite scoring less than their avg. ppg of 28.40. QB Shaun Himmerick threw three scores in this one, connecting with three different receivers along the way. Coming up in Week 6, KaBoom! will have two opportunities to lockup a top-3 playoff seed heading into the postseason as they have a double header on their slate to close out their regular season schedule. They will first take the field against Savages (4-2-0) before having to step right back onto the field to take on Big Pick Energy (4-1). Big week coming up for KaBoom!. Balls & Dolls really gave it their all on the offensive end despite losing in the second half of their double dip, beating their average of 9.80 points per game for the season. In the loss for Balls & Dolls, QB Logan Duckworth connected with Kalin Mcneil for one touchdown. Next up for Balls & Dolls coming up in Week 6 is a match-up versus No As Club (2-4-0), as they look to close out their regular season schedule on a high-note.

 

Big Pick Energy (4-1) v. Ballz Deep (3-2) – Thursday, October 15, and 2020

Ballz Deep came up on the short end of a 16-0 loss to Big Pick Energy in the showdown of one-loss teams in Week 5 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Big Pick Energy really stepped up on defense in this one, beating their season points against average of 17.2 points per game. QB Carly Callans threw one score, which was caught by Whitney. Andre Veasley came up with a huge Defensive TD for Big Pick Energy to help secure the win for their squad. Coming up in Week 6, Big Pick Energy will take the field against KaBoom! (4-1) in a crucial matchup that will have plenty of implications on playoff seeding. Ballz Deep really struggled to get it going in terms of scoring in this one, scoring less than their average of 18.20 ppg for the year. Next up for Ballz Deep is a battle against Patomic Bomb (6-0-0), as they look to rebound from this tough loss and gain some momentum prior to the postseason beginning.
