Thursday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football – Week 2 Recap

KaBoom! (2-0) v. No As Club (1-1) – Thursday, September 24, and 2020

KaBoom! and No As Club competed in an absolute shoot-out, totaling 65 points. KaBoom! put 40 on the board and held No As Club to 25 points. They really stepped up, exceeding their first game point total. QB Shaun Himmerick passed for four TDs, finding Lonnie Buggs for two of them. QB Shaun Himmerick now leads the league in total Passing TDs with 8 through the first two weeks of the season. Exiting week 2, KaBoom! will look ahead to keep their early season momentum rolling. This week KaBoom! will line-up against Patomic Bomb (2-0-0) with first place in the league standings on the line. Despite the loss, No As Club really gave everything they had on in terms of scoring in this game, topping their total from their Week 1 match-up. In the loss for No As Club, QB Tori Vennetti passed for four total TDs, hitting Taylor Vennetti and Nicole Dale for two touchdowns apiece.  As for No As Club next on the calendar is Can’t Find The Cleat (1-1-0) as they try to get back into the win column.

 

Balls & Dolls (1-1) v. Girl Play (0-2) – Thursday, September 24, and 2020

Balls & Dolls secured their first victory of the season on Thursday night, holding on for a 21-13 win over Girl Play at the Lincoln Park Fields. Balls & Dolls may want to try something new on offense however if they want to stay near the top of the standings, as they are currently ranked 7th overall in total points scored early on this season. QB Kalin Mcneil passed two nice touchdowns, connecting with Corey Cross for one of them while also rushing in one with their legs. Coming up in week 3 Balls & Dolls will play Big Pick Energy (1-1-0), as they look for back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Girl Play really struggled to get it going on offense in this game, scoring less than their total from their first match-up. For Girl Play, QB Keri Lockett hit Gretchen Gaskin for one touchdown and ran into the end zone for their only scores in this game. For Girl Play they will have a pairing against Savages (1-1-0) as they look to come back from this one and notch their first victory of the season.

 

Can’t Find The Cleat (0-2) v. Ballz Deep (2-0) – Thursday, September 24, and 2020

Ballz Deep cruised past Can’t Find The Cleat in week 2 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. By the score of 31-6, Ballz Deep got a dominant victory. This team really showed up in this one, topping their first game point total. QB Sulaymaan Muhammed tossed four TD passes, two which were caught by Tim Wharton and the other two by Chris DeLorme. Ballz Deep is currently ranked 1st in the league in total defense as they have allowed only 12 points trough the first two games of the season. For Ballz Deep next on the calendar is Savages (1-1-0) coming up in week 3 as they try to extend their winning streak to three games. Can’t Find The Cleat really didn’t have their best stuff in this game, scoring just six points for the second consecutive week. QB Kyle Kenagy threw one score, which was caught by Nana Owusu-Boahen for their only score of the game. For Can’t Find The Cleat, next up is a throwdown against No As Club (1-1-0), as they look for their first win on the season.

 

Big Pick Energy (1-1) v. Stony Island Sailors (0-2) – Thursday, September 24, and 2020

Stony Island Sailors forfeited to Big Pick Energy in this week 2 match-up in the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Exiting week 2, Big Pick Energy will look ahead to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Next up is a throwdown against Balls & Dolls (1-1-0) coming up in week 3.

 

Patomic Bomb (2-0) v. Savages (1-1) – Thursday, September 24, and 2020

Patomic Bomb and Savages combined for an offensive explosion totaling 73 points in an absolute thriller in week 2 of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. Patomic Bomb put 37 on the board and held Savages to 36 points. Patomic Bomb brought it in this one, topping their opening game point total. QB Clayton Sanger delivered four touchdowns, passing to Vincent Ngo for one of them and rushed for one with his legs. Exiting week 2, Patomic Bomb will look ahead to keep their undefeated season alive. Next up is a showdown against KaBoom! (2-0-0) coming up in week 3 with first place in the league standings on the line. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Savages are the highest scoring team in the league this year through the first two weeks, averaging 38.00 points per game. In the loss for Savages, QB Javonte Keys contributed five total touchdowns, passing for four while also rushing one in with his legs. Javonte Keys now leads the league in total TD’s with 10 through the first two weeks of the season. As for Savages they’ll move on to a date against Girl Play (0-2-0) coming up in week 3 as they strive to rebound from this gut-wrenching defeat.
