Thursday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football – Week 1 Recap

Ballz Deep (1-0) v. Balls & Dolls (0-1) – Thursday, September 17, and 2020

Ballz Deep offense mustered two long touchdown drives while the defense limited Balls & Dolls to just one score in a 14-6 victory on opening night of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. The final score of 14-6 reflects the hard work Ballz Deep put into every minute of the game. QB Sulaymaan Muhammad provided all the scoring for Ballz Deep in this one, delivering one TD pass, which was caught by Montrell Harris-Jackson, while also rushing in one on his own. Coming up in Week 2, Ballz Deep will take on Can’t Find The Cleat (0-1-0), as they look to get their record up to 2-0. Balls & Dolls struggled offensively in this contest and are now tied for the lowest-scoring team in the league through the first week. In the loss, QB Kalin Mcneil hit B B (Brigid Bockelman) for their only score of the game.  As for Balls & Dolls they will move on to a game against Girl Play (0-1-0) as they try to bounce back from this heartbreaking opening night defeat.

 

KaBoom! (1-0) v. Can’t Find The Cleat (0-1) – Thursday, September 17, and 2020

The KaBoom! era at the Lincoln Park Fields gets into the win column in Week 1, as KaBoom! powered to a 26-6 win over Can’t Find The Cleat on opening night of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. The final score of 26-6 reflects the hard work KaBoom! put into every minute of the game. QB Shaun Himmerick was spectacular for KaBoom! in this contest, passing for four touchdowns to three different receivers. WR Bree Hinkle was on the receiving end for two of them. Coming up in Week 2 KaBoom! will battle No As Club (1-0-0), as they look to keep up the momentum and take their record up to 2-0. Can’t Find The Cleat struggled offensively in this contest and are now tied as the lowest-scoring team in the league early on this season. In the loss for Can’t Find The Cleat, QB Bobby hit Liam Gorman for their only score of the game. For Can’t Find The Cleat next on the schedule is Ballz Deep (1-0-0) as they try to bounce back from this opening night defeat.

 

No As Club (1-0) v. Girl Play (0-1) – Thursday, September 17, and 2020

No As Club and Girl Play had in a nail-biter on opening night of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League. By the score of 18-16, No As Club got a nail biting W to record their first victory of the season. QB Taylor Vennetti threw two TDs, hitting Tori Vennetti for one of them. Tori Vennetti was all over the field as they recorded a Defensive TD to help secure the team the win. The season is still young, and Girl Play has significant amounts of games to pick it up on the offensive end. For Girl Play, in the loss, QB Keri Lockett hit Gretchen Gaskin and Grant for their only two scores of the game. No As Club will attempt to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 2. KaBoom! (1-0-0) are next on the docket for No As Club. As for Girl Play they will have a showdown against Balls & Dolls (0-1-0) as they attempt to get into the win column and shake off this heartbreaking defeat.

 

Savages (1-0) v. Big Pick Energy (0-1) – Thursday, September 17, and 2020

The final score was as ugly as Big Pick Energy looked on opening night of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League – or, as beautiful as the Savages looked, depending on which colors you wear. QB Javonte Keys was awesome in this contest, contributing five total TDs, passing for three to three different receivers while also rushing in two with his legs. With a final score of 40-12, Savages record their first victory of the season. Savages are the highest-scoring team in the league through Week 1. Exiting week 1, Savages will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. This week Savages will line-up against Patomic Bomb (1-0-0) in a crucial Week 2 matchup. It is only week one, and Big Pick Energy still has tons of games to pick it up on the offensive side of the ball. For Big Pick Energy, in the loss, QB Carly Callans hit Charles Wright for one of their two scores in this game. For Big Pick Energy next on the docket is Stony Island Sailors (0-1-0) as they try to get into the win column and shake off this lopsided defeat.

 

Patomic Bomb (1-0) v. Stony Island Sailors (0-1) – Thursday, September 17, and 2020

Patomic Bomb hosted Stony Island Sailors on opening night of the Thursday Lincoln Park Coed REC 8v8 Flag Football League earning a hard-fought 28-6 victory. The team held their own against a solid team on a chilly Fall Chicago evening. QB Clayton Sanger accounted for all four of his teams scores, delivering three touchdown passes to three different receivers, while also scampering in one on his own with his legs. Michelle Champman, Justin Carson and Izzy Rahin were all on the receiving the passed from QB Clayton Sanger. Exiting week 1, Patomic Bomb will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. Savages (1-0-0) are next on the schedule for Patomic Bomb in a huge Week 2 matchup. The season is still young, and Stony Island Sailors still has significant amounts of opportunities to get better on offense (and defense). During the loss for Stony Island Sailors, QB Denzell Blackmon hit Abdullah Asad for their only score of this game. For Stony Island Sailors they will have a game with Big Pick Energy (0-1-0) as they strive to pickup their first victory of the campaign.
