Sunday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football – Week 1 Recap

Da Band (1-0) v. IV:XX (0-1) – Sunday, September 20, and 2020

QB Blake Hammond threw for five TD passes, two to WR Thomas Ross, to lead Da Band to a 32-13 win over IV:XX on opening day of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. If Da Band keep this up, expect them to find themselves near the top of the standings, as they are the highest-scoring team in the league through week one. For Da Band, next up is a showdown with Treason (0-1-0) coming up in Week 2 as they go for back-to-back victories to start their Fall campaign. Despite the loss, IV:XX has some good opportunities in this contest but just could not keep up with a very determined Da Band crew. During the loss for IV:XX, QB Marcus Robinson hit Anthony Stephenson for one of their two scores in this game. For IV:XX next on the docket is Evil (0-1-0) coming up in Week 2 as they look to rebound from this tough Week 1 defeat.

 

Reckless Abandon (1-0) v. NFG (0-1) – Sunday, September 20, and 2020

QB Josh Wagner threw two TD passes, one to Arteria Ziegler and one to Kendall, as Reckless Abandon recorded a thrilling 14-13 victory over NFG on opening day of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. For Reckless Abandon, every week is a crucial opportunity to get in a groove at the outset of the season. Next up for Reckless Abandon is a throwdown with The OGs (1-0-0) coming up in Week 2. The season is still young, and NFG has tons of opportunities to pick it up on offense. In the loss for NFG, QB James Paris hit Timothy Powell for one touchdown. NFG’s defense played well in this contest, especially Megan who recorded a Defensive TD. For NFG, they will have a matchup coming in Week 2 with TEFLON (1-0-0) as they look to record their first victory of the season.

 

The OGs (1-0) v. Treason (0-1) – Sunday, September 20, and 2020

Grinding out wins with tough defense and just enough offense is becoming a trademark for The OGs. The OGs followed that script in a 21-18 victory over Treason on opening day of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. QB Monet Mailey passed for two TDs, hitting Daavay Rivers for one of them, while also rushing one in on their own. Exiting week 1, The OGs will look ahead to take their record up to 2-0. This week The OGs will line-up against Reckless Abandon (1-0-0) in a huge Week 2 battle. Despite losing, Treason has tons of games to get better on the offensive end. In the loss for Treason, QB Gregory Owens hit Edwin Smith for two touchdowns, their only scores in this game. For Treason next up is a contest against Da Band (1-0-0) as they look to bounce back from this heartbreaking defeat.

 

TEFLON (1-0) v. Evil (0-1) – Sunday, September 20, and 2020

The final score of 25-13 reflects the hard work TEFLON put into every minute of their season opening win in the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. QB Donovan Jenkins threw three TDs for TEFLON in this contest, finding Leonta Bennett for one of them. The defense for TEFLON played well in this contest as well, holding Evil to just 13 points. Exiting week 1, TEFLON will look to stay undefeated. NFG (0-1-0) are next on the docket for TEFLON coming up in Week 2. We’ve only played one week of games thus far so Evil still has tons of opportunities to get better on both ends of the field. During the loss for Evil, QB John Bowles threw two TD passes for his squads only scores of the game. The defense for Evil struggled to contain the TEFLON QB in this contest and as a result, allowed TEFLON to put up a 25 on the scoreboard. TEFLON will need to shake this loss of quickly as they will move on to a pairing against IV:XX (0-1-0) coming up in Week 2.
