In an unexpected outcome, the 20th place ranked team, Echo, tied the favored Just Closing Our Rings (currently ranked 9th) with a final score of 2-2. They’re not really winning, but they’re not really losing, Just Closing Our Rings have had a frustrating streak of ties for 4 games in a row. Jay Gonzalez was the star player for Just Closing Our Rings this week. They scored all two goals for their team. For Just Closing Our Rings next up is Soccer Hotties (3-0-1). This week’s result puts Echo in 20th place in the standings. Frankie Saiz kicked one goal to help earn the squad the win. 2 Goals 1 Cup (1-1-1) vs. Game of Throw-Ins (3-2) – Monday, August 3, 2020

It took half the season, but 2 Goals 1 Cup finally earned their first win! They defeated Game of Throw-Ins 2-0. This was one of two games for Game of Throw-Ins this week. They lost both matches dropping them to the #8 rank in the standings. This win for the 2 Goals 1 Cup came as a surprise considering it’s week 4 and they have only scored less than a handful goals. 2 Goals 1 Cup’s goalkeeper played very well in the shut out. Next up for Game of Throw-Ins is a battle against INDY Team #16 (2-2-0), as they look to rebound.  Next up for 2 Goals 1 Cup is a throwdown against Comedy Club (0-2-1).

Team Cool Kids (4-0) vs. Kenosha Kickers (0-2-1) – Monday, August 3, 2020

Team Cool Kids played well here and blanked Kenosha Kickers with a final score of 2-0. Team Cool Kids remain undefeated this season and show no signs of slowing down. Colin Clancy accounted for one goal. The defenders are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Jeff Carpenter earn a clean sheet. Kenosha Kickers struggled to get it going on offense in this game, and failed to make it onto the scoreboard. Next week, Team Cool Kids will attempt to stay unblemished with a match-up against Comedy Club (0-2-1).   On Monday, Kenosha Kickers will try to break their winless streak against The Fusion-Eights (0-3-1).

Avocado Discoballs (2-2) vs. Game of Throw-Ins (3-2) – Monday, August 3, 2020

Avocado Discoballs played well here and blanked Game of Throw-Ins with a final score of 2-0. This week, Avocado Discoballs came ready for a double header. They won both matches, which means they’re heating up! Eman Bucaro made one goal. The team’s goalie, Chris Mueller, stone-walled Game of Throw-Ins, earning a shutout for their record. Next up for Avocado Discoballs is a contest against TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-1).  This was one of two games for Game of Throw-Ins this week. Daddy FC (3-0-1) vs. Comedy Club (0-2-1) – Monday, August 3, 2020

Daddy FC absolutely dominated this game in shut out fashion against Comedy Club with a final score of 9-0. Comedy Club struggled to get it going on offense in this game, but they’ve had 4 overall goals this season.  Next game, Comedy Club takes on Team Cool Kids (4-0-0) in an attempt to put a 1 in the win column. Daddy FC seems to have found their groove and has won two games in a row. Trey Foody tallied a hat trick to help get the squad the win. Next week, Daddy FC face off against UniTo Pastis (0-3-1) in an attempt to remain undefeated.

Soccer Hotties (3-0-1) vs. Avocado Discoballs (2-2) – Monday, August 3, 2020

Soccer Hotties and Avocado Discoballs competed in a Game where the defenses dominated, totaling three goals. Soccer Hotties took home the 2-1 victory. This win is the second in a row for Soccer Hotties, and it bumps them to 3rd place in the standings. Daniel Johnson kicked two goals to help earn the club the win. This was one of two games for Avocado Discoballs this week. Both matches were losses dropping them to the #9 rank in the standings. Eman Bucaro scored the only goal for Avocado Discoballs to get their team on the board. Soccer Hotties will look to stay undefeated next Monday with a pairing versus Just Closing Our Rings (0-0-4).   Next up for Avocado Discoballs is a showdown against TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-1), as they attempt to bounce back.

Balls Deep (4-0) vs. Squad Goals (0-2-2) – Monday, August 3, 2020

Balls Deep and Squad Goals had a nail-biter up to the last minute with a final score of 3-2. In spite of the loss, Squad Goals really gave it their all on the offensive end in this one, exceeding their average of 1.5 goals per game for the season. The losing team still had notable players including Jonathan Matson, who kicked one goal for Squad Goals. Josh Mah of Balls Deep is MVP and now is in the lead for the scoring title with a whopping 10 goals! Josh Mah lasered in two goals and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet.  Next game, Squad Goals takes on Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team (2-2-1) in an attempt to get their first win.  Next Monday, Balls Deep battle against Kinexon FC (2-2-0) in an attempt to remain perfect.

INDY Team #16 (2-2) vs. The Fusion-Eights (0-3-1) – Monday, August 3, 2020

INDY Team #16 controlled this game in shut out fashion against The Fusion-Eights with a final score of 3-0. The Fusion-Eights were unable to get rolling in this game, and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. INDY Team #16 really brought it in this game, topping their average of 1.8 goals per game.  INDY Team #16’s goalkeeper stone-walled The Fusion-Eights.  Next week, The Fusion-Eights takes on Kenosha Kickers (0-2-1) in an attempt to get off the schneid.  Game of Throw-Ins (3-2-0) are next up on the schedule for INDY Team #16, as they look to keep it going.

ESPN The Ocho (2-1-1) vs. Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team (2-2-1) – Monday, August 3, 2020

ESPN The Ocho shut out Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team with a final score of just 1-0. Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team were unable to get rolling in this one, but they’ve had 5 overall goals this season.  Squad Goals (0-2-2) is next up on the calendar for Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team, as they look to get into the winner’s circle. This win is the second in a row for ESPN The Ocho, and it bumps them to 6th place in the standings. Ryan Teich was the hero on offense and scored their only goal. The defense are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Peter Wiersma earn a shut out. Next up for ESPN The Ocho is a showdown against Team Awesome (1-4-0).

UniTo Pastis (0-3-1) vs. Ben’s Angels (0-0-3) – Monday, August 3, 2020

The underdog, UniTo Pastis (currently ranked 20th in the league) tied the favored Ben’s Angels (currently ranked 9th) with a final score of 1-1. This victory for the UniTo Pastis came as a surprise considering it’s more than halfway through the season and they have only scored less than a handful goals. Pietro Ramella scored the team’s only goal, keeping their team on the board. They’re not really winning, but they’re not really losing, Ben’s Angels have had a frustrating streak of ties for 3 games in a row. Erich Peltz was the star player for Ben’s Angels this week. They scored the only goal for them.Exiting week 4, UniTo Pastis looks ahead to Daddy FC (3-0-1) who are next on the calendar.  For Ben’s Angels they will go toe to toe with 2 Goals 1 Cup (1-1-1).

Team Awesome (1-4) vs. Kinexon FC (2-2) – Monday, August 3, 2020

It took half the season, but Team Awesome finally earned their first win! They defeated Kinexon FC 2-1. It’s week 4 and Kinexon FC have only scored a total of 3 goals all season. Lorissa Lamoureux scored the only goal for Kinexon FC to get their team on the board.  Balls Deep (4-0-0) is next up on the calendar for Kinexon FC, as they look to rebound. Team Awesome really brought it in this game, exceeding their average of 1.0 goals per game.  Simon Lockwood-Bean scored one goal to provide some scoring. Next up for Team Awesome is a match-up against ESPN The Ocho (2-1-1).

Oat Milk is Not Real Milk (2-0-2) vs. TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-1) – Monday, August 3, 2020

Oat Milk is Not Real Milk and TBD (Team Vecchitto) played to a draw and ended knotted up at 2-2. This is TBD (Team Vecchitto)’s first tie this season and they’re currently sitting in sixth place in the standings. Willie Filian was the star player for TBD (Team Vecchitto) this week. They scored all two goals for their team. For TBD (Team Vecchitto) they will face off with Avocado Discoballs (2-2-0). Oat Milk is Not Real Milk used their 2 goals scored in this game to boost their total goals this season to 8. Jack Keelan scored all two goals, keeping their team on the board.
