Spring 2019 Wednesday Montrose Turf Co-Ed Open 11v11 Soccer – Week 6

Toe Ballers (6-0-1) vs. Alright Alright Alright (2-3-2) – Wednesday, July 17, 2019

As was the case earlier this season, Toe Ballers won the rematch against Alright Alright Alright. This game finished with a final score of 2-0.  Alright Alright Alright were unable to get rolling in this one, and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.  With the loss, Alright Alright Alright’s season now comes to an end. Toe Ballers continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. Michael  was the VIP, scoring all two goals to guide the squad’s offense. The club’s goalkeeper made sure Alright Alright Alright would not score. Toe Ballers will look to remain unbeaten next Wednesday with a match-up against Blue Guys in the Semi-Finals. 

Blue Guys (4-3) vs. Good Hustlers (1-5-1) – Wednesday, July 17, 2019

Just like earlier in the season, Blue Guys won the rematch against Good Hustlers. This game finished with a final score of 6-0.  Blue Guys really stepped up, besting their average of 1.9 goals per game.  Natalie scored a hat trick to steer the club’s offense, while Kate scored two, and Bob one more. Next up for Blue Guys is a Game against Toe Ballers in the semi-finals.  Good Hustlers were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this game, and failed to make it onto the scoreboard.  Good Hustlers’ season is now over with this quarterfinals lost and they will look to improve so they can dominate come next season.

Train Wreck (4-1-2) vs. Kick in a Box (1-6) – Wednesday, July 17, 2019

As was the case earlier this season, Train Wreck won the rematch against Kick in a Box. This game finished with a final score of 4-0.  First shout-out goes to Ben of Train Wreck who now leads the league with 5 goals. Matt scored two goals. Shout-out to their goalie for the shutout! Kick in a Box were unable to get rolling on offense in this one, and suffered a shutout, and officially ends their season this week. Next up for Train Wreck is a showdown against Zombies next week in the semifinals.

Zombies! (4-3) vs. Chicago Handshakes (3-4) – Wednesday, July 17, 2019

As they did earlier in the year, Zombies! won the rematch against Chicago Handshakes. This game finished in penalty kicks with Zombies coming out on top 4-2.  Zombies! battled for this game, earning the win, despite scoring less than their average goals per game of 1.3. Neither of the teams could score during the match, but the intense scoring came down to the final moments in PK’s. Next up for Zombies! is a contest versus Train Wreck in the semi-finals. Chicago Handshakes’ season now comes to a close and they look towards next season for a shot at the championship.
