Boots and Hoes (3-5) vs. F.C. DVG (0-4-3) – Wednesday, May 15, 2019

It was an exciting Play-In match-ups, in which the #7 seed, Boots and Hoes, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #11 seed, F.C. DVG.F.C. DVG have had a rough season.  Selpuck scored the only goal for F.C. DVG to get their team on the board. F.C. DVG is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon. The win for Boots and Hoes means a ticket to quarter-finals.  It also means they had another game in the same night. Tribe FC (6-0-1) vs. Boots and Hoes (3-5) – Wednesday, May 15, 2019

No one expected this Quarterfinal game to be such a close one. Tribe FC, the #1 seed just squeaked by in this 1-point game to beat the #7 seed, Boots and Hoes.  Boots and Hoes had two games this week. The game could have gone either way, and they now sit in 7th place in the standings. The losing team still had notable players including Jack Coutre, who kicked one goal for Boots and Hoes.  Boots and Hoes have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye. Tribe FC have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye.

 

Ball Handlers (2-6) vs. The Ball Handlers (2-4-2) – Wednesday, May 15, 2019

The Ball Handlers were the #7 seed facing the #9 seed, Ball Handlers. With their higher rank and momentum from last week, The Ball Handlers went into this game thinking they would be going on to Quarter-Finals.  With a final score of 2-1, Ball Handlers grabbed this W.  Dillon scored the only goal for The Ball Handlers to save them from a shutout.  The Ball Handlers had a tough run this season, and they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs.  The win for Ball Handlers means a ticket to quarter-finals.  Since the quarter-final was a double header for these guys, check out the game recap below to see how they did!

 

Sick Kickers (5-3-1) vs. Uptake United (1-7) – Wednesday, May 15, 2019

Sick Kickers were the higher ranked #5 seed playing the #12 seed, Uptake United.  They took the win to advance to Quarter-Finals. The win for Sick Kickers means a ticket to quarter-finals.  Read about the outcome of that game below.  Uptake United didn’t have their best stuff in this one and suffered a shutout.  Uptake United is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon.

 

LPSE (6-0-1) vs. Ball Handlers (2-6) – Wednesday, May 15, 2019

The #1 seed, LPSE, took on the #9 seed, Ball Handlers in this Quarterfinal game. The last time these two teams met in week 7, LPSE won 7-0. The results weren’t much different this time around.   Ball Handlers had a double header this week.  In contrast to their other game, the defense crumbled in critical moments.  Ball Handlers have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye. KH Kicks (5-3-1) vs. I Wanna Score with Somebody (INDY #6) (0-5-1) – Wednesday, May 15, 2019

Heading into this Quarterfinal games, I Wanna Score with Somebody (INDY #6) were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 3 goals last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #5 seed playing the #13 seed, I Wanna Score with Somebody (INDY #6). The 4th place vs 5th place game is always one of the most exciting matches of the playoff bracket. With a final score of 2-0, Sick Kickers grabbed this W. These teams had similar records with 5 wins each. This is Kick Acidosis’s first loss of the season. Banana Bread at Work, Bro, the #3 seed, took on the #5 seed, KH Kicks in this Quarterfinal game.  Banana Bread at Work, Bro have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye. This was one of two games for KH Kicks this week.
