It’s A Llama (6-0-1) vs. INDY Team #1 (0-5-1) – Thursday, August 1, 2019

The #1 seed, It’s A Llama, took on the #8 seed, INDY Team #1 in this Quarter-Finals game. These two teams met in week 3, and had a very well-matched game resulting in a 1-1 tie. It was anyone’s guess who might win this time around.  It’s week 9 and INDY Team #1 have only scored a total of 4 goals all season.  Marcos was among those who scored in this playoff win for It’s A Llama, putting two shots past the INDY Team #1 goalkeeper, William Erlain.  INDY Team #1 is done for the season following their loss in the quarterfinals.  It’s A Llama takes on Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year in the semi-finals.

Cheeky Monkey (5-1) vs. Champions (2-5) – Thursday, August 1, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, the #2 seed, Cheeky Monkey, took on the #6 seed, Champions. Champions really struggled defensively in this one, surrendering more goals than their average of 3.6 goals against per game for the season. The losing team still had notable players including David Hagele, who had one goal for Champions.  Champions is now done for the season following their loss.  Mark Araci leads Cheeky Monkey this season in scoring and added 2 goals to their stats this week bringing Mark Araci’s personal total to 5. Cheeky Monkey will play Chicago Handshakes in the semi-finals this week.

Chicago Handshakes (4-3) vs. Look Ma, No Hands (1-6) – Thursday, August 1, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Finals matches, in which the #3 seed, Chicago Handshakes, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #7 seed, Look Ma, No Hands. Tyler Dawson was among those who scored in this playoff win for Chicago Handshakes, putting two shots past the Look Ma, No Hands goalkeeper, Varney Sonif. Look Ma, No Hands really brought their best on D in this game in spite of the loss, allowing less than their average of 4.1 goals against per game this year. The losing team still had notable players including Emma Paden, who kicked one goal for Look Ma, No Hands. Next up for Chicago Handshakes plays Cheeky Monkey this week.  Look Ma, No Hands looks to regroup for next season after their loss.

Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year (4-3) vs. Team Larry’s (4-3) – Thursday, August 1, 2019

Going into this game Team Larry’s had 4 wins this season, 17 total goals, and hunger for a playoff win. Team Larry’s struggled to get it going on the offensive end in this game, and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.  Team Larry’s has been eliminated following their loss. Michael Garai is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Kelly Blue Book’s 2009 Minivan of the Year.
