Spring 2019 Saturday Lincoln Park Turf Co-Ed Recreational Flag Football – Week 9

Flags & Flasks (4-5) v. INDY Team #4 (3-5) – Saturday, June 22, and 2019

Flags & Flasks, the #4 seed, matched up against the #6 seed, INDY Team #4 in this Quarter-Final game. These two teams faced off back in week 2 and INDY Team #4 won 18-7. But this time around, the tables were turned.  Flags & Flasks put 35 on the board and held INDY Team #4 to 18 points.  These guys really brought their A game on D, beating their season points against average of 26.1 ppg. QB Matt  passed four TDs, hitting Katie Farej, Steven, Reggie, and Damien, and rushed in one on his own.  During the loss, QB Will Cooper hit Brian Heinrich for one touchdown and ran into the end zone for two. The win for Flags & Flasks meant a straight shot to semi-finals. They played this game immediately following the quarter-final game. The recap below tells you all about it. On the bright side for INDY Team #4, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.

Dillo Dillo (6-1-1) v. Flags & Flasks (4-5) – Saturday, June 22, and 2019

In this extremely close contest Dillo Dillo, the #1 seed, emerged as the victors against the #4 seed, Flags & Flasks, by only a 5-point margin. By the score of 25-20, Dillo Dillo got a tight W.  They really showed some fight in this game, winning despite allowing more points than their season points against average of 16.8 points per game. QBs Mike and Shawn combined for three TDs, with Thomas catching two and Si the other.  During the loss, QB Matt hit Katie Farej for one touchdown and rushed for one. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise Dillo Dillo advanced to the Championship game. Read the recap below to find out how they did. Mongrels (4-4) v. Chi Town BlitZ (1-7) – Saturday, June 22, and 2019

Heading into this Quarter-Final games, Chi Town BlitZ were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 99 points last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #3 seed playing the #7 seed, Chi Town BlitZ. They confidently took the win to advance to Semi-Finals. By the score of 26-20, Mongrels got a W.  This team, Mongrels, really fought hard for this one, emerging victorious, despite scoring less than their average points per game of 31.60. QB Mark threw two TDs, passing to Panos and Carlo, and rushed in two on his own.  During the loss for Chi Town BlitZ, QB Dino hit Jessica, Jordan, and Fallen for a touchdown apiece. The win for Mongrels meant a straight shot to semi-finals. They played this game immediately following the quarter-final game. The recap below tells you all about it. Chi Town BlitZ had a difficult run this season, and they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs.

Hulk Smash (6-1-1) v. Mongrels (4-4) – Saturday, June 22, and 2019

With both teams playing as hard as they could to advance to the Championship Game, the #1 seed, Hulk Smash, won by just a 3-point margin against the #3 seed, Mongrels. With a final score of 29-26, Hulk Smash are one game closer to the championship title.  Hulk Smash are the highest-scoring team in the league, averaging 37.5 points per game. QB Clayton Sanger threw three touchdowns, hitting Art for two of them, Lan for another, and rushed in one on his own.  In the loss for Mongrels, QB Mark hit Panos, Danny, and Courtney each for a touchdown and rushed for one more.
