Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer – Week 4 Recap

Net Six and Chill (4-1) vs. Aston Birra (2-2) – Saturday, October 10, 2020

Aston Birra dropped its second game of the season in Week 4 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League, falling 2-1 to Net Six and Chill. Aston Birra struggled to get it going in terms of scoring in this game, scoring fewer than their average of 2.0 GPG for the year. Sam Leschisin scored their fourth goal of the season to save Aston Birra from a shutout. Coming up in Week 5, Aston Birra will have two opportunities to get back on track as they have a double header on their slate. They will first take the field against Medix 10’s (2-1) before stepping right back onto the pitch to take on Kellogg FC (2-2). Net Six and Chill are heating up with two wins in a row and are sitting atop the league standings board with 12 points through the first four weeks. Alex Nasca scored one goal, their second of the season, to help earn the club the win. GK Anne Truong also played well for Net Six and Chill in this contest, allowing only one goal to get past them. Coming up in Week 5, Net Six and Chill will battle against INDY Team #6 (1-3-0) as they look to take their winning streak up to three games.

 

Kellogg FC (2-2) vs. Off In Public (0-4) – Saturday, October 10, 2020

Kellogg FC picked up their second consecutive victory as they shutout Off In Public with a final score of just 1-0 in Week 4 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. This win for Kellogg FC came as a bit of a surprise considering it is Week 4 and they have only scored a total of 4 goals. To help earn the club the victory, Marc Conner scored their only goal. Their goalie, Jayson Bresnen, was fantastic in this contest as they stone walled Off In Public, earning a shutout for their record. Next up for Kellogg FC coming up in Week 5 is a crucial game against Aston Birra (2-2-0) as they go for their third win in a row. Off In Public were unable to get rolling in this one, and failed to make it onto the scoreboard for the second time this season. Their goalie, Robert Cottingham, played well here, unfortunately they just could not get any help from their offense in this contest. Coming up in Week 5, Off In Public will attempt to secure their first point(s) of the season with a match-up against Chicago Cougars (2-2-0).

 

Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! (3-0-1) vs. Medix 10’s (2-1) – Saturday, October 10, 2020

The leagues overall leading goal scorer, John Henry Neuberger, registered a brace to help lift Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! to a 4-0 shutout of Medix 10’s in Week 4 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! improved to 3-0-1 on the season, as Matthew Botek and Chris N. also joined in on the scoring. The club’s goalkeeper, Max Ausbrook, deserves much of the credit after earning a clean sheet. Coming up in Week 5. Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! face off against Goode FC (1-3-0) in an attempt to remain unblemished. Medix 10’s came into this match-up riding high on a two game winnings streak, but that is all gone now. This was Medix 10’s’s first loss of the season. Coming up in Week 5, Medix 10’s will have two opportunities to get back on track as they have a double header on their slate. They will first take the field against Jimmy’s U10s (2-1-1) before stepping right back onto the pitch to take on Aston Birra (2-2).

 

Jimmy’s U10s (2-1-1) vs. Goode FC (1-3) – Saturday, October 10, 2020

Jimmy’s U10s absolutely dominated this game in shut out fashion against Goode FC with a final score of 5-0 in Week 4 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Jimmy’s U10s brought it in this game, exceeding their average of 3.0 goals per game. It is the second time this season that Jimmy’s U10s has scored five goals in a match. Alex Pilnik registered a brace while Matthew Beasley, Dom Brooke and James also got in on the scoring for Jimmy’s U10s in this contest. Shout-out to goalie, Justin, for the shutout! Next up for Jimmy’s U10s is a battle against Medix 10’s (2-1-0) coming up in Week 5 as they look to take their unbeaten streak up to four games. Goode FC did not have their best stuff in terms of scoring in this one and failed to make it onto the scoreboard for the first time this season. Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! (3-0-1) are next up on the docket for Goode FC coming up in Week 5, as they attempt to bounce back from this lopsided defeat.

 

Chicago Cougars (2-2) vs. INDY Team #6 (1-3) – Saturday, October 10, 2020

Chicago Cougars rode the strength of two early goals to dispatch INDY Team #6 by a 2-1 score in Week 4 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. Chicago Cougars really brought it in this game, besting their average of 1.3 goals per game. Guillermo Alvarez fired in their second goal of the season to help earn Chicago Cougars this crucial Week 4 victory. Next up for Chicago Cougars is a showdown against Off In Public (0-4-0) coming up in Week 5 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. INDY Team #6 really were unable to get rolling in this game, scoring fewer than their average of 1.8 GPG this season. David Whitney scored the only goal for INDY Team #6 to save them from a shutout. GK Jackson Nowak played well in net for INDY Team #6 in this contest, unfortunately they let just one too many balls get past them.
