Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer – Week 3 Recap

Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! (2-0-1) vs. Jimmy’s U10s (1-1-1) – Saturday, October 3, 2020

Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! battled to a draw with Jimmy’s U10s, 2-2, in Week 3 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. There was no lack of action on the pitch with both teams notching a pair of goals. Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! used their 2 goals scored in this game to boost their total goals this season to 12. John Henry Neuberger and Patrick Lawler scored one goal apiece to spearhead the club’s offense. Exiting Week 3, Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! will look ahead to Medix 10’s (2-0-0) who are next on the schedule.  This is Jimmy’s U10s’s first tie this season and they are currently sitting in fifth place in the league standings. In the Week 3 tie, Amanda and Willie scored one goal apiece for Jimmy’s U10s. For Jimmy’s U10s they will face off with Goode FC (1-2-0) coming up in Week 4 as they try to record their second victory on the Fall campaign.

 

Aston Birra (2-1) vs. INDY Team #6 (1-2) – Saturday, October 3, 2020

Tightly contested competition is nothing new in the Windy City, and that was on full display in Week 3 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League as Aston Birra defeated INDY Team #6 by a final score of 1-0. Ethan Krochmal scored the eventual game-winner, while the Aston Birra defense notched its first shutout of the season, moving Aston Birra to 2-1-0 on the year. The team’s goalie, Anne Truong, played very well in the shutout. Aston Birra battled hard in this contest, emerging victorious, despite scoring less than their avg. GPG of 2.3. Net Six and Chill (3-1-0) are next up on the calendar for Aston Birra, as they look to record their third win of the year. INDY Team #6 did not have their best stuff in this game and could not seem to find the back of the net.  Chicago Cougars (1-2-0) is next up on the docket for INDY Team #6, as they attempt to rebound from this tough defeat.

 

Net Six and Chill (3-1) vs. Chicago Cougars (1-2) – Saturday, October 3, 2020

Net Six and Chill took on Chicago Cougars in Week 3 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League, needing a win to take over top spot in the league standings. An early goal for Net Six and Chill would set the tone for the match as Chicago Cougars put forward an energetic, but fruitless effort. The performance was not perfect for Net Six and Chill, but with a 4-0 win, the result was absolutely what the team needed. Goals by Jack McCormick, Jonathon George, Alex Nasca and Austin Delsi helped seal this big Week 3 victory. Shout-out to the Net Six and Chill keeper, Jake Biegger, for the shutout! Chicago Cougars did not have their best stuff in this game and could not seem to find the back of the net. Next up for Chicago Cougars is a battle against INDY Team #6 (1-2-0), as they look to get back on track and put this lopsided loss in their rear-view mirror.

 

Kellogg FC (1-2) vs. Goode FC (1-2) – Saturday, October 3, 2020

Earning their first win of the season, Kellogg FC beat Goode FC 3-1. Kellogg FC stepped up, surpassing their average of 1.0 goals per game.  Marc Conner, Andrew Ritchie, and Andrew Koultourides fired in one goal apiece to lead the squad’s offense. Off In Public (0-3-0) are next up on the docket for Kellogg FC, as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Goode FC struggled to get it going in this one, scoring fewer than their average of 2.0 goals per game this year. Katie Winter scored the only goal for Goode FC to save them from a shutout. Next up for Goode FC is a match-up against Jimmy’s U10s (1-1-1), as they attempt to rebound from this tough Week 3 defeat.

 

Medix 10’s (2-0) vs. Off In Public (0-3) – Saturday, October 3, 2020

Medix 10’s and Off In Public played an absolute thriller up to the last minute with a final score of 5-4 in Week 3 of the Saturday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT Soccer League. Medix 10’s are heating up with two wins in a row. Dylan Koehler and Kelly Lewers each recorded a brace for Medix 10’s in this contest to guide the club’s attack. Next week, Medix 10’s battles against Fox & Robin presents; Soccer? I barely know her! (2-0-1) in an attempt to stay undefeated and continue their rise up the standings board. This heartbreaking loss comes when Off In Public scored their personal best of the season. Off In Public still had notable players including Frank Gibase, who notched a hat-trick to help keep their squad in this game. Off In Public attempts to put a 1 in the win column coming up in Week 4 with a match-up against Kellogg FC (1-2-0).
