Monday Wells High School Men’s 7v7 Outdoor Soccer League Recap – Week 5

Cacatuas FC (4-1) vs. INDY Team #6 (1-3) – Monday, October 19, 2020

Cacatuas FC were incredible on both sides of the pitch against INDY Team #6 with a final score of 5-0 in Week 5 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League. Cacatuas FC secured their third straight win this week and are officially on fire. Juan Pablo Garza and Tomas Cantu-Martinez each recorded a brace in this contest for Cacatuas FC to help secure their squads fourth win of the season. The win moves Cacatuas into a three-way tie for first place in the league standings with one game remaining on the regular season schedule. Next up for Cacatuas FC coming up in Week 6 is a crucial showdown versus Beercelona (4-1-0) that will have major implications on the playoff seedings. INDY Team #6 did not have their best stuff on offense in this one as they suffered their second shutout of the season. Vitamin O (4-1-0) are next up on the calendar for INDY Team #6 coming up in Week 6, as they look to get back on track and gain some positive momentum heading into the postseason.

 

Beercelona (4-1) vs. Vitamin O Yeah (3-3) – Monday, October 19, 2020

Beercelona raced passed Vitamin O Yeah for its fourth win of the season, 4-2 in Week 5 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League. Beercelona are playing an incredible offensive season. They are averaging almost 6 goals per game. Gewargis Samuel recorded a brace to lead the club’s attack. With the win, Beercelona now sits in a three-way tie for first place in the league standings with 12 total points. They will have an opportunity to secure the overall #1 seed coming up in Week 6 when they take the field against Cacatuas FC (4-1-0). Huge game coming up for both squads. Despite the loss, Vitamin O Yeah has been doing great on offense, they currently lead the league with 38 total goals. Yemi Akindele was the star player for Vitamin O Yeah this week. They scored both goals for their team. Next up for Vitamin O Yeah is a battle against INDY Team #5 (0-6-0) coming up in Week 6, as they look to snap their two-game losing streak prior to the postseason starting.

 

Vitamin O (4-1) vs. INDY Team #5 (0-6) – Monday, October 19, 2020

Grabbing the same result as they did on opening night, Vitamin O won the second go-around against INDY Team #5 in Week 5 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League. This game finished with a final score of 5-2. Vitamin O are having an astounding offensive season. They are averaging almost 7 goals per game. Ryan Geidner scored a hat trick to spearhead the group’s attack and raise his season goal scoring total up to 8. With this huge Week 5 victory, Vitamin O are now sitting in a three-way tie for first place in the league standings with 12 total points. INDY Team #6 (1-3-0) are next up on the docket for Vitamin O coming up in Week 6, as they look to secure the overall #1 seed heading into the postseason. INDY Team #5 really played their A game to stop Vitamin O in this game despite losing, giving up less than their average of 8.3 goals against per game for the season. Michael Menos was the star player for INDY Team #5 this week. They recorded a brace to provide all the scoring for their squad.
