Monday Wells High School Men’s 7v7 Outdoor Soccer League Recap – Week 3

Vitamin O (3-0) vs. Vitamin O Yeah (3-1) – Monday, October 5, 2020

Vitamin O defeated Vitamin O Yeah 5-3 in Week 3 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League, in as entertaining a soccer game as you are likely to see this year. In a battle for first place in the league standings, Vitamin O continued their winning streak in Week 3 and are officially on fire. Sandro Silva recorded a brace to help earn the team the W. The two goals for Sandro Silva brought his season total up to 6. Vitamin O will try to remain perfect coming up in Week 4 with a match-up against Beercelona (2-1-0). Vitamin O Yeah had a double header in Week 3. This was the tougher match of the two, but at least the loss did not ding their standings too bad as they still sit near the top of the table in 2nd place. The losing team still had notable players including Yemi Akindele, who scored two goals for Vitamin O Yeah. This was a disappointing loss for Vitamin O Yeah but they would still need to step right back onto the pitch and play their second scheduled game of the evening. More on this game below.

 

Vitamin O Yeah (3-1) vs. INDY Team #6 (0-2) – Monday, October 5, 2020

As was the case the week before, Vitamin O Yeah won the rematch against INDY Team #6. This game finished with a final score of 10-1. In the two games played against INDY Team #6 so far this season, Vitamin O Yeah have tallied a whopping 23 goals. Will Teichman led the charge for Vitamin O Yeah, knocking in a hat-trick to bring his season goals scored total up to 6. Three players, Ryan Murphy, Yemi Akindale and Hunter Somers all recorded braces to help secure this Week 3 blowout victory. Cacatuas FC (2-1-0) are next up on the calendar for Vitamin O Yeah, as they look to secure their fourth win on the season. INDY Team #6 struggled on both ends of the pitch in this contest as they let up a Week 3 league-high 10 goals. They also struggled offensively as they were only able to knock one ball into the net. INDY Team #6 needed to put this lopsided loss behind them quickly as they needed to step right back onto the pitch and take on Beercelona in the second half of their double dip. Beercelona (2-1) vs. INDY Team #6 (0-2) – Monday, October 5, 2020

In this match, Beercelona beat INDY Team #6 by a final score 5-2. INDY Team #6 had a double header. Both matches were losses and increased their total goal differential to -22. INDY Team #6 did play much better in this contest and gave themselves plenty of opportunities to walk away with at least a point. Robert Rashid and Gordon Schlicht provided the scoring for INDY Team #6 in this contest, unfortunately it just was not enough to steal a point from Beercelona. Next week, INDY Team #6 will attempt to put a 1 in the win column for the first time this season against INDY Team #5 (0-4-0). This win is the second in a row for Beercelona, and it bumps them into a tie for 3rd place in the league standings with 6 total points. Arturo Vera scored a hat trick to spearhead the team’s offense. Vitamin O (3-0-0) are next up on the calendar for Beercelona, as they look to record their third straight win and creep closer to the top of the standings board.

 

Cacatuas FC (2-1) vs. INDY Team #5 (0-4) – Monday, October 5, 2020

Cacatuas FC cruised past INDY Team #5 7-1 in Week 3 of the Monday Wells TURF Men’s 7v7 Soccer League. In what is almost certainly the most dominant performance of year so far, the Cacatuas FC squad crushed their opponents wire-to-wire and ran up the score despite missing a handful of gilt-edged chances. Cacatuas FC really brought their A game in this one, beating their average of 5.0 goals per game. Santiago Ardila and Carlos Ramirez each recorded a brace, while three other Cacatuas FC players tallied a goal to help lead their squad to this Week 3 victory. Next up for Cacatuas FC is a throwdown versus Vitamin O Yeah (3-1-0) coming up in Week 4. Even though they faced losing, INDY Team #5 genuinely gave everything they had to stop Cacatuas FC in this game, surrendering less than their average of 9.3 GAPG for the season. Joe Hnilo scored the only goal for INDY Team #5 to get their team on the board. Coming up in Week 4, INDY Team #5 will try to put a 1 in the win column against INDY Team #6 (0-2-0) as both teams will be desperately fighting for their first point(s) of the season.
