Kenosha Kickers (1-3-2) vs. The Fusion-Eights (0-5-1) – Monday, August 24, 2020

The win for Kenosha Kickers on Monday night was earned without a drop of sweat since The Fusion-Eights forfeited. The forfeit victory for Kenosha Kickers brings their regular season point total up to 5 on the season and as a result, will start the playoffs as the #16 seed.  They get a date with #17 Just Closing Our Rings (0-2-4) coming up on Monday night in Round 1 of the playoffs.  The winner of this game will stay on the field and take on #1 Daddy FC (5-0-1) in Round 2.

 

Team Cool Kids (5-0-1) vs. Comedy Club (0-4-2) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Team Cool Kids put on a show on Monday night, knocking in a season high eight goals in their teams 8-3 trashing of Comedy Club. Team Cool Kids remain without a loss this season and show no signs of slowing down. Nick Glick, Colin Clancy and Ethan Chaplinsky all knocked in two goals apiece to guide the squad’s offense. The win brings Team Cool Kids regular season point total to 16 and lock in the overall #2 seed heading into the postseason on Monday night. They get to take on the winner of the #15 Squad Goals (1-3-2) vs. #18 UniTo Pastis (1-4-1) game in Round 2 coming up on Monday. This was the first of two games for Comedy Club on Monday night. Both matches were losses and increased their total goal differential to -19. Soccer Hotties (5-0-1) vs. Just Closing Our Rings (0-2-4) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Soccer Hotties pushed its current win streak to four matches as they recorded an important 3-0 victory over Just Closing Our Rings. With the victory, Soccer Hotties improved to 5-0-1 on the regular season. Daniel Johnson scored two goals and Hannah Rosin knocked in the third to help guide their squad to the win. Shout-out to keeper, Danielle Posner, for the shutout! The win secures the overall #3 seed for Soccer Hotties heading into our postseason tournament coming up on Monday night. They will take on the winner of the #14 2 Goals 1 Cup (2-3-1) vs. #19 Echo (0-4-2) game in Round 2.  Just Closing Our Rings struggled to get it going on offense in this one and failed to make it onto the scoreboard for the third time this season. The loss drops Just Closing Our Rings to the #17 seed heading into our postseason tournament coming up on Monday and they will get a date with #16 Kenosha Kickers (1-3-2) in Round 1. The winner of this game will stay on the field and take on #1 Daddy FC (5-0-1).

 

2 Goals 1 Cup (2-3-1) vs. Comedy Club (0-4-2) – Monday, August 24, 2020

On Monday night, in an evenly played match, 2 Goals 1 Cup squeezed out a huge win over Comedy Club by a final score of 2-1. Jeff Kinka and Ben led the way for 2 Goals 1 Cup in this match, knocking in a goal apiece to help lead their squad to their second victory of the season. 2 Goals 1 Cup could not celebrate for too long however as they needed to step right back onto the field and take on Ben’s Angels in Game 2 of their doubleheader. See below for that game’s recap. Comedy Club came into this match on the back end of their double header looking to put behind their 8-3 drubbing in the game before. They certainly did not let the first game of the night get to them as they really competed in this contest. Colin Myers scored the only goal for Comedy Club to prevent the shutout, but it just wasn’t enough to get past a determined 2 Goals 1 Cup squad. The two losses for Comedy Club sees them drop into the #20 seed heading into the postseason tournament starting on Monday night. They will take on #13 INDY Team #16 (2-3-1) in Round 1 action. The winner of this match will stay on the field and take on #4 Balls Deep (4-1-1) in Round 2.

 

Kinexon FC (3-3-0) vs. Balls Deep (4-1-1) – Monday, August 24, 2020

The underdog, Kinexon FC upset the favored Balls Deep squad with a final score of 2-1. Kinexon FC really stepped up in this match, beating their average of 1.0 goals per game. Matthew Gitelis and Josh Martinez were the heroes of this match for Kinexon FC, firing in a goal apiece to help earn the club the huge W. The win moves Kinexon FC into the #12 seed for the upcoming postseason and will see them take on #21 Team Awesome (1-6-0) in Round 1 action. The winner of this game will stay on the field and take on #5 Ben’s Angels (3-0-3) in Round 2. This is Balls Deep’s first loss of the season. Andrew Lively scored his third goal of the season to save his from a shutout and keep them in this game. The loss drops Balls Deep down into the #4 seed and will see them take on the winner of the #13 INDY Team #16 (2-3-1) vs. #20 Comedy Club (0-4-2) game in Round 2 action.

 

Ben’s Angels (3-0-3) vs. 2 Goals 1 Cup (2-3-1) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Ben’s Angels recorded their third consecutive victory as they took down 2 Goals 1 Cup in their regular season finale on Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. This squad is on fire heading into the postseason. They got goals from Joe Gainer and Bill Cooney in this match to help them record this very important victory. The win locks in Ben’s Angels as the overall #5 seed heading into the postseason on Monday night. They will get to face the winner of the #12 Kinexon FC (3-3-0) vs. #21 Team Awesome (1-6-0) game in Round 2. 2 Goals 1 Cup could not bring their winning momentum in this match from the game before and took a heartbreaking defeat by the final score of 2-1. Allyson Goshorn got her squad on the board, but it just was not enough to get past a very determined Ben’s Angels squad. The two-game split on Monday night will now see 2 Goals 1 Cup begin their playoff journey on Monday night as the overall #14 seed. They will take on #19 Echo (0-4-2) in Round 1 action. Winner of this game will stay on the field and take on #3 Soccer Hotties (5-0-1) in Round 2.

 

Daddy FC (5-0-1) vs. UniTo Pastis (1-4-1) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Daddy FC needed to win on Monday night to lock in the overall #1 seed heading into the postseason and they did just that, taking down UniTo Pastis in a thrilling 2-1 final. Daddy FC are heating up at the right time with four wins in a row. John Kotsiantos and Tina Cevizovic fired in the two goals for Daddy FC to help them secure the overall #1 spot. They will begin their postseason journey coming up on Monday night when they take on the winner of the #16 Kenosha Kickers (1-3-2) vs. #17 Just Closing Our Rings (0-2-4) game in Round 2. UniTo Pastis really struggled to get it going in this game, scoring less than their average of 1.5 GPG for the year. Si Kai Lee scored the only goal for UniTo Pastis to prevent the shutout. The loss drops UniTo Pastis into the #18 seed heading into our postseason tournament coming up on Monday night. They will take on #15 Squad Goals (1-3-2) in Round 1 with the winner of this game staying on the field to take on #2 Team Cool Kids (5-0-1) in Round 2.

 

ESPN The Ocho (3-2-1) vs. Team Awesome (1-6-0) – Monday, August 24, 2020

ESPN The Ocho scored three beautiful goals on its way to a convincing 3-0 victory over Team Awesome on Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. ESPN The Ocho really brought their A game in this one, topping their average of 1.8 goals per game. Ryan Teich, Brad Sherill and Shannon Carol all scored one goal apiece for ESPN The Ocho in this contest to help secure their team the victory. The huge week 6 victory propels ESPN The Ocho into the #9 seed heading into our postseason tournament. They will begin their playoff journey coming up on Monday night against #8 Kickin’ In the Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team in Round 2. Team Awesome did not have their best stuff on offense in this one and suffered their second consecutive shutout. The loss drops Team Awesome into the #21 seed heading into our postseason tournament and will see them take on #12 Kinexon FC (3-3-0) in Round 1. Winner of this game will stay on the field and take on #5 Ben’s Angels (3-0-3) in Round 2.

 

Avocado Discoballs (3-3-1) vs. TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-3) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Avocado Discoballs and TBD (Team Vecchitto) battled to a 1-1 draw on Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Eugene Ballantine, Avocado Discoballs leading scorer during the regular season, notched his third goal of the season to help his squad tally the hard-earned point. The draw locked in Avocado Discoballs into the #11 seed heading into our postseason tournament coming up on Monday night. They get to take on #6 Oak Milk is Not Real Milk (3-1-2) in Round 2. Nick Vecchitto was the hero for TBD (Team Vecchitto) on Monday night as he knocked in his first goal of the season to help his squad secure the draw. The hard-earned point moves TBD (Team Vecchitto) into the #10 seed heading into our postseason tournament beginning on Monday night. They will get to take the field against #7 Game of Throw-Ins (4-2-1) in Round 2 to begin their postseason journey.

 

Oat Milk is Not Real Milk (3-1-2) vs. Echo (0-4-2) – Monday, August 24, 2020

 

It took a little while, but the final score did indeed reflect the level of dominance of Oak Milk is Not Real Milk Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. David Lewandownski and Alan Leeser tallied two goals apiece as Oat Milk is Not Real Milk steamrolled Echo by a final score of 5-1. With this Week 6 victory to close out their regular season schedule, Oak Milk is Not Real Milk will enter the postseason as the overall #6 seed. They will take on #11 Avocado Discoballs (3-2-1) in Round 2 action coming up on Monday night. Echo did not have their best stuff on offense in this one, scoring fewer than their average of 1.5 goals per game for the year. Timothy Miller scored the only goal for Echo to save them from a shutout. The loss leaves Echo winless during the regular season and as a result, drops them into the #19 seed heading into the postseason. They will look to keep their season alive coming up on Monday night with a match-up against #14 2 Goals 1 Cup (2-3-1) in Round 1 of play. Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team (4-2-1) vs. Squad Goals (1-3-2) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Squad Goals forfeited and handed a free win to Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team for this game. The win was their second in a row for Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team and they will now have lots on momentum heading into the postseason tournament. They will start their playoff run coming up on Monday night as the overall #8 seed and will get a date with #9 ESPN The Ocho (3-2-1) in Round 2. The forfeit loss drops Squad Goals into the #15 overall seed and will see them take on #18 UniTo Pastis (1-4-1) in Round 1 of play. Game of Throw-Ins (4-2-1) vs. INDY Team #16 (2-3-1) – Monday, August 24, 2020

Game of Throw-Ins picked up their first victory in almost a month after recording a 2-0 shutout victory over INDY Team #16 on Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Jesus Basilio Jr and Kevin scored to turn a scoreless affair into a Game of Throw-Ins victory. This crucial week 6 victory moves Game of Throw-Ins into the #7 seed heading into the postseason tournament and will see them take on TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-3) in Round 2 of play. Team #16 were unable to get rolling in this game and failed to make it onto the scoreboard for the third time this season. The loss drops INDY Team #16 into the #13 overall seed, and they get to take on #20 Comedy Club (0-4-2) in Round 1 of play coming up on Monday night. The winner of this match will stay on the field and take on #4 Balls Deep (4-1-1) in Round 2 of play.
