Soccer Hotties (4-0-1) vs. ESPN The Ocho (2-2-1) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Soccer Hotties and ESPN The Ocho competed in a Game where the defenses dominated, totaling three goals total. Soccer Hotties took home the narrow 2-1 victory. ESPN The Ocho really did not have their best stuff in terms of scoring in this one, scoring less than their average of 1.6 goals per game this year. Shannon Carol scored the only goal for ESPN The Ocho to get their team on the board and avoid the shutout.  Team Awesome (1-5-0) is next up on the docket for ESPN The Ocho, as they look to rebound from this heartbreaking loss and end their regular season schedule on a high note. Soccer Hotties really battled for this matchup, earning the W, despite scoring less than their avg. goals per game of 2.8.  Eric Gilbert and Leland Pew lasered in the goals to help earn the squad the hard-fought victory. On Monday, Soccer Hotties seeks to stay undefeated and clinch the overall #1 seed prior to heading into the postseason with a match-up versus Just Closing Our Rings (0-0-5).

 

Squad Goals (1-2-2) vs. Kinexon FC (2-3) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Earning their first win of the season, Squad Goals beat Kinexon FC by a final score of 3-1. Squad Goals brought their A game, exceeding their average of 1.8 goals per game.  Spenser Buenzli accounted for two goals and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet for Team Squad Goals. Kinexon FC have had a rough season with regards to putting the ball in the back of the net. It is week 6 and they have only scored a total of 4 goals. Josh Martinez scored the only goal for Kinexon FC to save them from a shutout. Next up for Squad Goals is a throwdown against Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team (3-2-1).   Next up for Kinexon FC is a showdown against Balls Deep (4-0-1), as they look to get back into the winner’s circle and end their regular season schedule on a high note.

 

UniTo Pastis (1-3-1) vs. The Fusion-Eights (0-4-1) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Both teams entered this match looking for their first win of the season. With a final score of 5-0, UniTo Pastis emerged with a win against The Fusion-Eights. The Fusion-Eights did not have their best stuff on offense in this one and suffered a shutout.  The Fusion-Eights tries to break their winless streak next Monday against Kenosha Kickers (0-3-2). UniTo Pastis had their best offensive showing of the season on Monday night, knocking in 5 total goals. Pietro Ramella scored a hat trick to help get the group the W. Daddy FC (4-0-1) are next up on the docket for UniTo Pastis, as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

 

Balls Deep (4-0-1) vs. TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-2) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Balls Deep and TBD (Team Vecchitto) were extremely evenly matched in this contest and ended all tied at 2-2. Balls Deep have had a strong offense so far this season. They are averaging 3 goals per game. Josh Mah, the leagues leading scorer through the first five weeks of the season (12) was the VIP, scoring both goals and keeping their team in the game. This is TBD (Team Vecchitto)’s second tie this season and they’re currently sitting in eighth place in the standings with one regular season game remaining. In the tie, Jacob Roberge kicked one goal for TBD (Team Vecchitto). Exiting week 5, Balls Deep will look ahead to Kinexon FC (2-3-0) who are next on the calendar.  For TBD (Team Vecchitto) next they take on Avocado Discoballs (2-2-1) to close out their regular season schedule.

 

Avocado Discoballs (2-2-1) vs. Just Closing Our Rings (0-0-5) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Avocado Discoballs and Just Closing Our Rings could not settle anything after 40 minutes, playing to a 0-0 draw on Monday night. With no goals to add to their record, this week’s game drops Just Closing Our Rings’s average to just over 1 goal per game. There were several missed opportunities for Team Avocado Discoballs during this contest.  They unfortunately just could not find the back of the net.  Both goalkeepers came up huge for their squads in this game, earning both teams a well-deserved point. For Just Closing Our Rings they will face off with Soccer Hotties (4-0-1) coming up on Monday night to close out their regular season schedule.  Exiting week 5, Avocado Discoballs looks ahead to TBD (Team Vecchitto) (2-1-2) who are the last game on their regular season schedule.

 

Game of Throw-Ins (4-2) vs. Team Cool Kids (4-1) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Game of Throw-Ins and Team Cool Kids competed in a low scoring affair, combining for three goals. Game of Throw-Ins took home the narrow 2-1 victory. Nick Glick scored the only goal for Team Cool Kids to save them from a shutout.  Next up for Team Cool Kids is a match-up against Comedy Club (0-2-2), as they look to rebound from this tough luck loss. Jesus Basilio Jr leads Game of Throw-Ins this season in scoring and added to their stats this week with 2 goals bringing his personal total to 5 on the season. Jesus Basilio Jr two goals helped secure the club the win. Next up for Game of Throw-Ins is a match-up against INDY Team #16 (2-2-1) to close out their regular season schedule with an opportunity to secure the #1 overall seed heading into the postseason.

 

Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team (3-2-1) vs. Oat Milk is Not Real Milk (2-1-2) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Another game-winner from John Chapman gave Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team a hard-fought 2-1 victory on Monday night. Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team brought it in this game, topping their average of 1.2 goals per game.  Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team are now 3-2-1 on the season and sit in sixth place in the rankings table. Squad Goals (1-2-2) are next up on the calendar for Kickin’ In The Backseat: Our Corporate Soccer Team, as they look to keep winning momentum going prior to heading into the postseason.  This is Oat Milk is Not Real Milk’s first loss of the season. Kyle Kenagy scored the only goal for Oat Milk is Not Real Milk to get their team on the board and avoid the shutout. Echo (0-3-2) is next up on the calendar for Oat Milk is Not Real Milk, as they try to bounce back and shake off this disappointing loss.

 

Echo (0-3-2) vs. INDY Team #16 (2-2-1) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Team Echo and INDY Team #16 played to a 1-1 draw on Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Fields. This is INDY Team #16’s first tie this season and they’re currently sitting tied for 10th place in the standings. Quinn Giangiorgi tallied the lone goal in the match for Team Echo. Allison Ruffing scored INDY Team #16’s only goal, saving their team from defeat and helping them earn the hard-fought point.  For INDY Team #16 next on the docket is Game of Throw-Ins (4-2-0) to close out their regular season schedule.  Exiting week 5, Echo looks ahead to Oat Milk is Not Real Milk (2-1-2) who are next on the schedule.

 

Ben’s Angels (2-0-3) vs. Team Awesome (1-5) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Ben’s Angels absolutely dominated this game in shut out fashion against Team Awesome with a final score of 4-0. Ben’s Angels had two games this week. Incredibly, they won both matches, which means they are heating up at the right time! Ceasar Castanon scored two goals in this contest for Ben’s Angels. The defense for Ben’s Angels is the unsung heroes of this match for helping Erich Peltz earn a shutout. Next week, Ben’s Angels will attempt to stay unblemished with a battle against 2 Goals 1 Cup (1-2-1) to close out their regular season schedule.  Team Awesome were unable to get rolling in this game and suffered a shutout, their third of the season.  ESPN The Ocho (2-2-1) is next up on the schedule for Team Awesome, as they look to rebound and get back on track prior to the postseason starting.

 

Kenosha Kickers (0-3-2) vs. Comedy Club (0-2-2) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Kenosha Kickers and Comedy Club were evenly matched in this one and ended all tied at 1-1. This is Comedy Club’s second tie this season and it was their best defensive performance yet. Rachel Mangus was the star player for Comedy Club this week. They scored the only goal for their team. Kenosha Kickers were fired up for a double header this week but only walked away with 1 point in their two games. Perhaps on a night they only had one game, they could have recorded a victory. Steven Pelrine tallied the only goal for Kenosha Kickers in this contest.  For Comedy Club they will face off with Team Cool Kids (4-1-0) coming up on Monday night to close out their regular season schedule.  Exiting week 5, Kenosha Kickers looks ahead to The Fusion-Eights (0-4-1) who are the final team on their regular season schedule.

 

Daddy FC (4-0-1) vs. 2 Goals 1 Cup (1-2-1) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Tightly contested competition is nothing new in the Windy City, and that was on full display Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF fields as Daddy FC defeated 2 Goals 1 Cup, 1-0. 2 Goals 1 Cup struggled to get it going on offense in this one, being shutout for the second time this season. Daddy FC have consistently shown they are an attacking team. They are averaging just under 4 goals per game on the season. To help gain the team the win, Vinny Zygmuntowicz fired home the game winner to help secure the squad this hard-fought victory.  The defenders did a great job in this game as well by helping James Pickard earn a shutout. Comedy Club (0-2-2) are next up on the calendar for 2 Goals 1 Cup, as they look to rebound from this gut-wrenching loss and end their regular season on a high note.  Next week, Daddy FC faces off against UniTo Pastis (1-3-1) in an attempt to remain unbeaten and lock in the overall #1 seed prior to the postseason starting.

 

Ben’s Angels (2-0-3) vs. Kenosha Kickers (0-3-2) – Monday, August 17, 2020

Ben’s Angels beat Kenosha Kickers 2-1 to earn their second straight victory on Monday night. Both teams had double headers on Monday night, but Ben’s Angels were able to muster just a little more energy to earn the hard-fought victory. Cesar Castanon and Benjamin Kresner were the heroes for Ben’s Angels in this contest and they each knocked in a goal apiece.  Katie Biggs was able to get Kenosha Kickers on the board in this contest, unfortunately it just was not enough to get past a determined Ben’s Angels squad. Next Monday, Kenosha Kickers will look to record their first win on the season with a match-up versus The Fusion-Eights (0-4-1). For Ben’s Angels coming up on Monday, they will attempt to remain undefeated as they close out their regular season schedule with a date against 2 Goals 1 Cup (1-2-1).
