Earning their first win of the season, It’s About To Get Messi beat Cat Facts FC 1-0 in Week 3 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC/INT 8v8 Soccer League. It’s About To Get Messi really brought it in this one, beating their average of 0.7 goals per game. To help get the club the victory, Franco Mariani scored their only goal to secure the full three points. Shout-out to goalkeeper, Sayeed B., for the shutout! 2 goals 1 cup (0-2-0) are next up on the calendar for It’s About To Get Messi, as they look to keep it going and record their second win on the season. Ben’s Angels buckled down in this game, earning the win despite allowing more goals than their opening game. Cesar Castanon, Lee Kresner and Bill Cooney lasered in one goal apiece to provide the scoring for Ben’s Angels. Ben’s Angels will look to remain undefeated coming up in Week 4 with a Game versus Summit Sweepers (1-1-1). This heartbreaking loss comes when Avocado Discoballs scored their personal best on the season. Avocado Discoballs still had notable players including Chris Mueller and Eric Gleaves, who scored one goal apiece to help keep their squad in this game. Avocado Discoballs will attempt to get off the schneid in Week 5, as they are scheduled for the BYE week coming up in Week 4.

Spearheading the club’s offense, Steven Childs scored their only goal. The team’s goalkeeper, James Stillion, played very well in the clean sheet. This week’s result puts Barcapool in a seven-way tie for third place in the league standings with 4 points. Alex Estrada scored the team’s only goal, saving their team from defeat. Finally breaking their losing streak, Carlton’s Kidz grabbed an exciting win against Kinexon FC with a final score of 1-0. Carlton’s Kidz really brought it in this one, besting their average of 0.7 goals per game. Robert Carmody prevented the team’s loss by scoring their only goal. Shout-out to goalkeeper, Noah Smithmier, for the shutout! Carlton’s Kidz will have an extra week to stew in this victory as they are schedule for the BYE coming up in Week 4. Kinexon FC has struggled offensively so far this season as they have only managed to tally one goal in their first two games. Good news is that they still have plenty of games remaining on their regular season schedule to turn things around before the postseason tournament begins.
