ASPCA (1-0) vs. 2 goals 1 cup (0-1) – Monday, September 28, 2020

ASPCA escaped with a hard-fought 2-1 win over 2 goals 1 cup in the opening match for both teams of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer League. Katy Wheldon was the hero of the match for ASPCA as they fired in both goals to help lead their club to their first victory of the season. GK Addison Briody played well for ASPCA in this match and conceded only a single goal to help their squad walk away with the win. ASPCA will look to keep moving up the standings board with another W in week 3. Next up is a showdown against ESPN Soccer (0-1-0). They have only played one game thus far so 2 goals 1 cup has significant amounts of games remaining on their schedule to get better on the offensive side of the ball. Ben Stone scored the only goal for 2 goals 1 cup to save them from a shutout. Back That Pass Up (2-0) vs. INDY Team #25 (1-1) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Back That Pass Up found itself in a tough battle with INDY Team #25 on Monday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field, but they would up leading virtually the whole way in a 4-2 victory. The win marked their second straight win to start their 2020 Fall campaign. The leading goal scorer through the first two weeks, Ryan Boonstra, tallied a hat-trick for the second consecutive game to propel their squad to another victory. Back That Pass Up will look to stay atop the league Standings with another W in week 4 once they return from their BYE in week 3. INDY Team #25 really struggled on the defensive end in this contest, allowing three more goals than they did in Week 1. There were some bright spots for INDY Team #25 in this game and one of them was Anthony Estrada who knocked in both goals for them to keep them in this contest. Game of Throw-Ins really brought it in this contesst, topping their opening game point total. Game of Throw-Ins will attempt to stay atop the Standings with another W in week 3. It’s About To Get Messi really struggled to get it going in terms of scoring in this game, scoring less than their total from their opening contest. Five different players tallied their names onto the scorer’s sheet for Lori’s Lightfut in this one, including Jake Degler and Riley Mcchesney who both contributed to the final score with 2 and 1 goals respectively. The defenders did a great job in this game as well by helping GK Owen Bott earn a shutout. Exiting week 2, Lori’s Lightfut will look to build on their league leading nine total goals with a throwdown with Soccer Hotties (2-0-0) in a huge match-up coming up in Week 3.

 

Just Closing Our Rings (1-0-1) vs. Carlton’s Kidz (0-2) – Monday, September 28, 2020

The winless Carlton’s Kidz squad gave Just Closing Our Rings a serious run for their money, but the determined Just Closing Our Rings crew won 2-1 on Wednesday night. Just Closing Our Rings really stepped up in this one, exceeding their first game point total. Jay Gonzalez kicked one goal to help earn the crew their first win of the season. Coming up in Week 3 Just Closing Our Rings will play You’re on Mute (INDY #8) (0-2-0), as they look to keep up the winning momentum and secure another three points. Despite losing, Carlton’s Kidz gave everything they had on offense in this one, exceeding their total from their first contest. Bryce Phillips scored the only goal for Carlton’s Kidz to get their team on the board. Summit Sweepers (1-1) vs. Trailblazers FC (0-1) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Summit Sweepers shut out Trailblazers FC with a final score of just 1-0 in Week 2 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer League. Trailblazers battled valiantly in their season opener on Monday night, but dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision. It is only their first game of the season, so Trailblazers FC still has plenty of time to improve on the offensive end of the field. For Trailblazers FC they will have a date with Wiggity Wack (2-0-0) coming up in Week 3 as they strive to bounce back from this heartbreaking defeat. Summit Sweepers buckled down and really showed up in this game, topping their first game point total. GK Santiago Martinez was the player of the match for Summit Sweepers as they led their team to a shutout victory! This week Summit Sweepers will battle Team#1 (0-2-0), as they look to keep up the winning momentum.

 

Pass it to the Italians! (1-1) vs. You’re on Mute (INDY #8) (0-2) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Andy O’Hare scored two goals for Pass it to the Italians! to fuel a dominant 4-1 victory over You’re on Mute (INDY #8) on Wednesday night at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Pass it to the Italians! really brought their A game in this, beating their first game point total as they notched their first victory on the campaign. Pass it to the Italians! will attempt to record back-to-back victories once they get back onto the field in Week 4 as they are schedule for the BYE in Week 3. Ivan Hernandez was the lone bright spot for You’re on Mute (INDY #8) in this contest as they fired in the clubs only goal of the game. For You’re on Mute (INDY #8) next on the docket is Just Closing Our Rings (1-0-1) coming up in Week 3 as they attempt to bounce back from this disappointing defeat.

 

Soccer Hotties (2-0) vs. Team#1 (0-2) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Soccer Hotties played well in Week 2 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer League and blanked Team#1 with a final score of 2-0. Soccer Hotties are heating up, winning both of their games to start the 2020 Fall campaign. Eric Gilbert notched his fourth and fifth goals of the season to provide the offense once again for Soccer Hotties. Soccer Hotties’s goalkeeper Sean Daley also deserves much of the credit after earning a clean sheet. Soccer Hotties will attempt to stay atop the league Standings with another W coming up in week 3. This week Soccer Hotties will play Lori’s Lightfut (2-0-0) in a huge battle with first place in the league standings on the line. For Team#1 they will want to put this loss behind them quickly as they will move on to a game against Summit Sweepers (1-1-0) coming up in Week 3 as they try to record their first point(s) of the season.

 

Team Cool Kids (1-1) vs. ESPN Soccer (0-1) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Team Cool Kids controlled this game in shut out fashion against ESPN Soccer in Week 2 of the Monday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer League with a final score of 2-0. This is certainly not the way ESPN Soccer saw their season starting but it is only the first game for them, and ESPN Soccer has significant amounts of time to go back to the drawing board on both ends of the field. For ESPN Soccer they will move on to a match-up against ASPCA (1-0-0) coming up in Week 3 as they try to rebound from this tough defeat. Team Cool Kids really stepped up in this one, topping their opening game point total. Team Cool Kids’s Jeff Carpenter deserves a shout out for helping blank the ESPN Soccer’s offense. Nick Glick and Ethan Chaplinsky each led his team to victory to guide the group’s attack. This week Team Cool Kids will go toe to toe with Net Six and Chill (2-0-0), as they go for another W.

 

Wiggity Wack (2-0) vs. Retired Broz FC (0-1) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Wiggity Wack earned their second-consecutive victory on Monday night when it took down Retired Broz FC 2-0 at the Lincoln Park TURF Field. Wiggity Wack’s goalie Peter Brady kept their net clean in this match. Jessica Belsito led their team to victory as they fired in both of the club’s goals to lead the squad’s attack. Wiggity Wack will attempt to stay atop the league Standings with another W in week 3. Next up is a throwdown against Trailblazers FC (0-1-0). It was their first game of the season, and Retired Broz FC has significant amounts of opportunities remaining to pick it up on the offensive end.  As for Retired Broz FC they will have a matchup against 99 problems but a pitch ain’t 1 (0-0-1) coming up in Week 3 as they look to bounce back from this disappointing defeat.

 

Net Six and Chill (2-0) vs. Cat Facts FC (1-1) – Monday, September 28, 2020

Net Six and Chill put on a show on both sides of the pitch against Cat Facts FC with a final score of 3-0 in Week 2 of the Wednesday Lincoln Park TURF Coed REC 8v8 Soccer League. Net Six and Chill are heating up, winning both of their games to start the 2020 Fall campaign. Derek Fujii recorded a brace and Austin Andrekus knocked in their third goal of the season to lead the club’s attack. Net Six and Chill goalie, Nick Webb, played very well in the clean sheet. For Net Six and Chill, each week is a critical opportunity to build momentum from the jump. Team Cool Kids (1-1-0) are next on the calendar for Net Six and Chill coming up in Week 3. Cat Facts FC were unable to get rolling in this one, netting fewer than their total from their Week 1 match and suffered their first defeat of the season. Avocado Discoballs forfeited to Barcapool in this match-up as they could not field enough players to play a legal game.
