Fall 2020 Tues Lincoln Park South Men’s INT 7 vs. 7 Flag Football Recap – Week 2

Safari Club (1-1) v. Block the Bookie (0-2) – Tuesday, September 22, and 2020

Safari Club picked up their first victory on the season under the lights at Lincoln Park on Tuesday evening as they blanked Block the Bookie by a final score of 27-0. Safari Club really brought their A game in this game, beating their opening game point total. QB Jack Copher threw four TDs, passing to Joey Domingo for two of them. Block the Bookie really struggled to get it going on offense in this one, scoring less than their total from their opening matchup. For Safari Club, every contest is a crucial opportunity for them to gather wins early in the season. Next up is a showdown against Fat Dan and Co. (1-1-0) in a crucial matchup coming up in week 2. For Block the Bookie next on the calendar is RPOs (2-0-0) as they strive to rebound from this loss and pick up their first win on the season.

 

RPOs (2-0) v. Fat Dan and Co. (1-1) – Tuesday, September 22, and 2020

RPOs and Fat Dan and Co. were very evenly matched in this Game. RPOs put 19 on the board and held Fat Dan and Co. to 12 points. RPOs battled hard for this game, emerging victorious, even with scoring less than what they posted in week 1. QB Matt Difrancesca delivered three touchdowns, finding Jake Rzeszutko for two of them. Even though they lost, Fat Dan and Co. are one of the higher scoring teams in the league for the year, averaging 29.50 points per game through the first two weeks of the season. During the loss, QB Jake Jemmi hit Tom Savage for their only two touchdowns in the game. For RPOs, next up is a throwdown against Block the Bookie (0-2-0) coming up in week 2, as they go for their third straight W. Butter (2-0) v. Dirty Chris and the Boys (0-1) – Tuesday, September 22, and 2020

Butter crushed Dirty Chris and the Boys in week 2 of the Tuesday Lincoln Park Men’s INT Flag Football league. The final score of 34-8 reflects the hard work Butter put into every minute of the game. The season is still young, but Butter are still one of the highest scoring teams in the league, averaging 26.5 PPG through the first two weeks of the season. QB Kyle Donahue threw a whopping five TD passes in this contest, passing to Ryan Donahue for three of them and the other two to Dillon Knight. Despite the loss, Dirty Chris and the Boys has plenty of weeks to pick it up on offense. For Dirty Chris and the Boys, in the loss, QB Jake Willems Van Dijk hit Mac Copeland for their only score of the game. For Butter, every game is a big game to stay atop the league standings. River Rats (1-0-0) are next on the docket for Butter coming up in week 2 as they go for their third straight win. For Dirty Chris and the Boys, they will have a game with Team Jim (1-1-0) as they strive to come back from this defeat and pick up their first victory on the season.

 

Team Jim (1-1) v. Big Chungus (0-1) – Tuesday, September 22, and 2020

Team Jim and Big Chungus played in a close one. With a final score of 13-6, Team Jim have their eyes on the prize. Despite the win, Team Jim are one the lowest-scoring team in the league early on for the season as they are averaging just under 10 PPG through the first two weeks. QB Francis Besana threw two scores, hitting Isaiah Reyes and Alexander Heuer for their only two scores of the game. Team Jim will attempt to stay atop the Standings with another W coming up in week 3. Next up is a throwdown against Dirty Chris and the Boys (0-1-0). It is only the first week, and Big Chungus has plenty of games to pick it up on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, they played extremely well, they just could not put up enough points to come away with the victory. For Big Chungus next on the docket is Good D (0-1-0) as they look to bounce back from this tough defeat and record their first victory on the season.

 

River Rats (1-0) v. Good D (0-1) – Tuesday, September 22, and 2020

River Rats and Good D were very evenly matched in both squads’ season openers of the Tuesday Lincoln Park Men’s INT 7v7 Flag Football League. With a final score of 14-12, River Rats picked up their first victory of the season in what ended up being one of the best games of the week. Curt Doner delivered one TD pass, which was caught by Zach Lewis while also scampering in one with his legs to provide all the scoring for their squad. Exiting week 2, River Rats will look ahead to keep their early season momentum. Next up is a throwdown with Butter (2-0-0) as they look to secure back-to-back victories.    Despite the loss, Good D has tons of opportunities to improve on offense. In the loss for Good D, QB Sam Poulos hit Daniel Ryan and Alec Strup for their only scores of the game. As for Good D they will move on to a game with Big Chungus (0-1-0) as they try to get into the win column.
