Fall 2020 Sunday Lincoln Park GRASS Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football – Week 5 Recap

NFG (2-2-1) v. Legacy (1-3) – Sunday, October 18, and 2020

Legacy forfeited to NFG in Week 5 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League as they did not have enough available players to field a legal team. Evil (2-3-0) are next up on the docket for NFG coming up in Week 6, as they look to close out their regular season schedule with back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Legacy will have two opportunities to get back on track before the playoff begin coming up in Week 6 as they are scheduled for a double header. They will first take the field against Reckless Abandon (4-2-0), before having to step right back onto the field to take on an undefeated Da Band (6-0) crew.

 

Da Band (6-0) v. The OGs (1-4-1) – Sunday, October 18, and 2020

Da Band and The OGs combined for an offensive explosion totaling 73 points in Week 5 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. By the final score of 41-32, Da Band have locked up the overall #1 seed for the postseason with still one game remaining on their regular season schedule. Da Band really brought their A game in this game, topping their average of 27.50 ppg. The leagues overall leader in Total Passing TDs, Total Rushing TDs and Total TDs, QB Blake Hammond, passed for three more scores, hitting Tom Schneider for two of them and scampered in three on his own with his legs. Coming up in Week 6, Da Band will try to complete their perfect regular season with a pairing versus Legacy (1-3-0). The OGs really played their A game in this one even with this loss on their record, beating their average of 17.20 points per game this season. In the loss, QB Carly tossed five total TD passes, hitting Quentin Williams for two of them. IV:XX (4-2) v. The OGs (1-4-1) – Sunday, October 18, and 2020

From start to finish, IV:XX refused to let up on The OGs and continued to pile on the misery with a 32-0 shut-out victory in Week 5 of the Saturday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. IV:XX really brought their A game in this contest, exceeding their average of 21.70 ppg. QB Lorenzo Stephens passed for five touchdowns, connecting with five different receivers along the way. IV:XX will look to secure their third consecutive victory to close out their regular season schedule coming up in Week 6 with a crucial match-up against Treason (1-4-0). The OGs could not match their offensive performance from their first game of the day, scoring less than their average of 17.20 ppg this year and being shutout for the first time this season. TEFLON (2-3-0) are next up on the schedule for The OGs coming up in Week 6, as they look to get back on track and close out their regular season schedule on a positive note.

 

Reckless Abandon (4-2) v. TEFLON (2-3) – Sunday, October 18, and 2020

With a final score of 30-8 in Week 5 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League, Reckless Abandon now have their eyes on the coveted long-sleeve championship shirts. With the win, Reckless Abandon have guaranteed themselves at the very least the #3 seed heading into the postseason with an opportunity to lock up the #2 overall seed coming up in Week 6. Reckless Abandon played great in this contest, beating their average of 19.00 points per game. QB Lance Hughes threw for five scores, finding Christopher Walker for two of them. Next up for Reckless Abandon is a date versus Legacy (1-3-0) coming up in Week 6 as they look to secure the overall #2 seed for the upcoming playoffs. TEFLON did not have their best stuff on the offensive end in this one, scoring less than their average of 15.80 ppg this season. For TEFLON, QB Donovan Jenkins hit Dan Colin for their only score in this game. The OGs (1-4-1) is next up on the docket for TEFLON coming up in Week 6, as they look to rebound from this lopsided defeat and bring their record back up to the .500 mark.

 

Evil (2-3) v. Treason (1-4) – Sunday, October 18, and 2020

Treason came up on the short end of a 33-13 loss to Evil in the showdown of one-win teams in Week 5 of the Sunday Lincoln Park Coed INT 8v8 Flag Football League. The final score of 33-13 reflects the hard work Evil put into every minute of the game. Evil really stepped up in this contest, exceeding their average of 20.00 points per game. QB John Bowles produced four scores for Evil in this game, tossing three TD passes, while also rushing one in with their legs. Next up for Evil is a match-up against NFG (2-2-1) coming up in Week 6 as they look to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Treason really were unable to put up much of a defense effort in this one, allowing more points than their average of 17.20 PAPG this year. During the loss, QB Gregory Owens connected with Edwin Smith and Jeff Oscar for their only two scores in this game. Next up for Treason is a match-up against IV:XX (4-2-0) coming up in Week 6, as they attempt to gain some positive momentum prior to the postseason starting.
